Donald Trump is officially the Republican nominee

After Monday's drama with Melania Trump's speech and its accusation of plagiarism plus the failed attempt for a roll call vote Tuesday was all about moving forward and securing unity within the party.

Speakers focused on attacking the Democratic nominee Hilary Clinton. For example the BBC reported that New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie held a mock trial against Mrs Clinton while the crowd shouted "lock her up." She's being criticized for using a private email account while serving as secretary of state.

Mr Christie yelled "guilty" a couple of times, showing dissent towards the FBI decision not to warrant criminal prosecution after Mrs Clinton, despite describing  her actions as "extremely careless."

Meanwhile, Mr Trump is expected to accept the nomination on Thursday. Although his nomination hasn't been in doubt for the last months it has now become a reality. His son, Donald Trump Jr made it official after saying, "Congratulations, Dad, we love you."

He added to the Clinton attack by saying she is a risk the US cannot afford to take and "if she were elected, she would be the first president who can't pass a background check."

Mr Trump on the other hand, addressed the audience via live stream and said the nomination was an honor. "This is a movement, but we have to go all the way. This is going to be a leadership that puts American people first."
