The Sexiest Aston Martin in Years was Designed in Italy
Dripping in sex appeal thanks to Italian design-house Zagato, Aston Martin has revealed the new Vanquish Zagato Concept.
The car will be at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Lake Como, Italy to show off its gorgeous new carbon fiber body. Aston reduced the split lines on the body by using large one-piece panels, while new lights and tail reflectors are meant to capture to classic Zagato look. Under the hood, Aston stuck with naturally aspirated power, opting for a V12 with 590 horsepower.
This is the fifth car that Zagato has styled for Aston Martin in as many decades. “We pride ourselves on our strong partnership and the creation of the Vanquish Zagato Concept was a true shared experience,” said Zagato CEO, Andrea Zagato. “It represents the essence of an important design relationship that dates back over fifty years.”
Design features are borrowed from all over the Aston Martin lineup, such as the One-77 inspired wing mirrors or the DB11 rear end and retractable spoiler. The iconic double-bubble design is seen with the roof, a design trait Zagato has used since the 1950s.
Moving inside, Herringbone carbon fiber is contrasted with anodized bronze and aniline leather, giving the interior a rich feel. A ‘Z’ quilt pattern is another Zagato signature, found on the seats and door sections, while the headrests and center console are embossed with Zagato’s emblem.
