Three, two, one, jump!

Three, two, one, jump

People from around the globe travel to Flandes to skydive

Flandes is a small-town in Colombia famous for its skydiving. Every weekend, local and foreigners fulfill their dream to fly through the clouds and face their fears. The plane takes off from the Santiago Vila airport – situated 74 miles from Bogotá, in the city of Girardot- where the main economic activity is tourism.

At eleven thousand feet, you will jump in tandem parachuting. It is a type of skydiving where a person is connected to a harness attached to the instructor. He or she guides people through the whole jump, including the exit of the plane, the free fall, piloting the canopy all the way through the landing.

You only need minimal instruction before making a tandem jump. If you’re nervous, ask the skydiving facility about their certification. On average, instructors have more than 1.000 hours of experienced jumps.

You will have the most exciting 40 seconds of your life at 180 kilometers per hour.

Prices

Around $188 dollars per person. If you travel in group, it might be cheaper. You can also pay a cameraman for an extra $52 dollars. With that being said, it all depends on the company you choose and the time of the year in which you visit.
