Leer en español: 5 alternativas a Win Sports+

From January 20, the start of Win Sports +, a premium channel dedicated 100% to broadcasting the matches of the Colombian Soccer League, has caused controversy. Many argue that the price of the channel, at 29,900 Colombian pesos per month ($7.36), is not justified, which has led to the popularization of the trend #LoPagaráSuMadre in Twitter. However, it is important to inform yourself before taking such rigid positions, which is why at LatinAmerican Post we decided to analyze services similar to Win Sports +, tell you what features they have and what their price is, in order for you to make a rational decision.

What services will Win Sports Plus have?

You have to understand what they sell us to establish a point of comparison. According to Win Sports, its new channel "will be dedicated 100% to soccer with content 24 hours a day, in FullHD quality and will have the broadcast of matches without commercials." Additionally, the Win Sports page clarifies that 60 games will be broadcast per month.

However, the content of this channel is not made up solely of Colombian games. There are also broadcasts of the Turkish Super League and various soccer analysis and discussion programs, among which are Planeta Fútbol and La Polemica, among others.

1. The Argentina Soccer Pack

The price of this premium package, which emerged a few years ago as a product of the Fox-Turner alliance, is 665 Argentine pesos per month or $10.35. According to Directv, this is a "premium package that allows you to watch the 14 games of the Argentine Super League and exclusive programming 7 days a week, 24 hours a day: interviews, current affairs programs, newscasts."

2. CDF: Chilean Soccer Channel

This Chilean soccer channel, which broadcasts the games of the Chilean national league, the Chilean Cup and some of the Chilean national team, can be purchased for 10,990 Chilean pesos. This is equivalent to $13.13.

3. NBA League Pass

A very curious case is that of NBA league pass, a service that, in its most basic package, costs $29 per month or 117,914 Colombian pesos, a service without a doubt much more expensive than Win Sports +. At this time, however, it is available free of charge due to the coronavirus crisis.

However, the NBA league pass has several functions that many of the premium channels do not have. For example, the service has an archive of historical games that can be accessed at any time, as well as a virtual reality service, which allows the user to view any game as if it were there.

It is also important to clarify that the League Pass is optional, since many of the basketball games are televised anyway and that the minimum wage in the USA is $ 7.25 per hour.

4. NFL Game Pass

The NFL Game Pass is an online streaming service that gives you access to all NFL games throughout the year, with non-commercial game replays and a multitude of extra angles. At this time, due to the coronavirus pandemic and until July 31, 2020, it is available for free. Normally it would be priced at $19 or 77 thousand Colombian pesos.

5. Watch NRL

This international service allows the user to watch all Australian rugby matches, live or through a filing system. This means that if you are a fan of this sport you can watch the entire Australian league without missing a single match. The service additionally includes access to the Fox League channel. It is only available to people outside of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific nations for a price of 39 Australian dollars, or 95 thousand Colombian pesos.
