Wednesday September 2 started one of the most important international festivals of cinema: the Venice Film Festival. The festival begins with strict biosecurity measures: attendance at each screening has been cut in half, attendees must reserve a seat, wear masks all the time and take their temperature. Thanks to a system established by the festival, attendees who present some kind of symptoms are also tracked.

In this version, Australian actress Cate Blanchet is the president of the jury. In her opening speech, she applauded the efforts of the organizers to carry out the festival even in the midst of the pandemic.

She has also been awarded the honorary Golden Lion, for her acting career. The actress is recognized for leading roles such as the one she plays in We Have to Talk About Kevin or Only Lovers Left Alive, but also for her antagonistic role as the White Witch in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Swinton has always been a cult actress, whose roles are out of the ordinary and whose performance, is always demanding due to the roles that the directors offer her. To her skill she owes this honorary award to an unconventional career in acting.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who renounced their title and royal responsibilities last year, announced a deal with Netflix this week. It is about the founding of their own production company, very much like the Obamas, who have also signed a deal with Netflix and who produce documentaries and podcasts on topics of their interest as a couple, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want to start producing documentaries, children's programs and series for the streaming platform on topics that they consider close to their hearts.

Meghan, who was already an actress and worked in the industry before, says she has learned a lot there and that as an individual and as Harry's partner she has interests in issues that she wants to give a voice to.

Mulan will be available on Disney + from December this year

This was announced by the streaming platform. After having postponed the premiere of the live action version of Mulán so many times in theaters, it has been decided that it will be available on the Disney + platform from December.

Due to the pandemic, Mulán has fought with other highly anticipated productions, such as Tenet, by Christopher Nolan,  for the position of being the first film to be screened in theaters after the pandemic. Now, it seems that the production company has gone digital, as many have done, and their movie will be available in December, as well, to watch from home.

Science fiction, "Game of Thrones" and "Star Wars", all brought together in a Netflix series

This Tuesday it was announced by the streaming platform that it is preparing a science fiction series based on the literary trilogy " The problem of the three bodies" by Liu Cixin, which narrates humanity's first encounter with an alien civilization.

The production of this series also comes in the form of a trilogy, as three great producers come together to carry it out: Brad Pitt, Rian Jhonson (producer of episode VIII of Star Wars), and DB Weis (of the creators of Game of Thrones) . Thus, the force will accompany this new super production of the streaming giant, which bets on the best of science fiction.
