Since 2015, the United States has dominated the US Open. The last non-American that won the Open was the german Martin Keymer in 2014 with a superb score of 271.

Jon Rahm- Spain

The Spaniard is playing some of the best golf of his life, and if he hadn't been held back by COVID-19 during the Memorial Tournament he could have easily won that event too. Ranked number 3 in the world, Rahm hungers for a win. He finished T5 in the Masters Tournament and T8 in the PGA Championship. If anyone can beat Bryson DeChambeau, it’s John Rahm.

Hideki Matsuyama- Japan

The actual champion of the Masters, Matsuyama is Japan’s most talented representative in the Open. Even if he failed to get a top ten in the last three events in which he participated, Matsuyama is still number 15 in the world. Most likely, he will get a good result, but he has proven that he can surprise us.

Louis Oosthuizen- South Africa

Oosthuizen has a long list of second-place finishes. This year he was runner-up in the PGA Championship. With this result, he has 5 second-place finishes at major championships. His best result was in 2010 when he won (narrowly) the British Open. This could be King Louis’s chance to get his second major win. Will he seize it?

Garrick Higgo- South Africa

Fresh off his win at the Palmetto Championship at Congaree, Higgo is one of the most underrated golfers participating in the Open. At the end of 2020 he was number 90 in the world, and he has managed to get several impactful wins to stand at number 39 today. His biggest opponent is inexperience, as this Open is only his second major championship appearance.

Tyrell Hatton- Britain

This English Golfer is not among the top ten favorites to win it all, but he easily makes the top 20. Hatton has had inconsistent results in the past months, but his T2 finish at Palmetto proves that he is still worthy of being among the ten best golfers in the world. His biggest problem is staying in the zone. Will he stay focused for the win?
