Every November 19, the World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse is celebrated, a date in which it seeks to generate awareness about the need to protect and ensure the rights and well-being of children. Although this date focuses on the sexual abuse of which millions of minors around the world are victims, there are many more types of violence that this population suffers, from physical and psychological abuse, through deprivation, forced labor and even murder. Child abuse in Latin America has alarming figures that have put the region in the eye of the hurricane.

At the beginning of this year, several government leaders from different countries in the region raised their voices to join forces against child abuse, especially against child labor, since 2021 is the International Year for the Elimination of Child Labor. However, so far no project or legislation has been created to guarantee changes in the paradigm of child abuse at the country or regional level.
