Meet Julieth Lozano, the soprano who has left Latin America high

Julieth Lozano is a Colombian soprano who began studying Industrial Engineering at the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, but who after seeing and listening to her first opera at age 19 fell in love with it, and there was no turning back.

Lozano studied the Master's Degree in Vocal Interpreting at the Royal College of Music in London, her talent has not only been recognized by the public since Julieth has been supported and benefited by the academic area, since she received the Irene Hanson, Jessie Summer and the Henry Wood Trust Award for which he managed to continue his studies at the RCM International Opera School with Dinah Harris. This year she received the Sybil Tutton scholarship.

In 2012 and 2014 she was the winner of the National Singing Contest of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogotá. In 2013 she was selected as a Scholar and in 2014 she was chosen as one of the Young Talents of the International Music Festival organized by the Salvi Foundation, an event where she is participating for the fifth time in 2019. In 2015, it was ranked first in the Emmy Destinn Contest, which seeks to promote Czech opera and offer a platform for the recognition of young talents.

Her career as a soprano continues with presentations she carried out between 2016 and 2017 when she played:

-Tyatania at Midsummer Night's Dream by Briten, with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogotá.

-Le Ruisseau in Les fêtes d'Hébé de Rameau a production of the Opera de la Bastille in Paris.

-Pergoa Servant of Pergolesi -I segreto di Susanna of Wolf-Ferrari in Macau.

In 2016, Lozano was selected to be part of the summer program of the Georg Solti Academy. She participated in the opera Don Giovanni where she played the role of Zerlina in the framework of the Verbier Festival (International Festival of Classical Music) in Switzerland, where the soprano won the Thierry Mermod Award for singers.

Julieth has also participated in other recitals internationally in countries such as India, China and the United Kingdom in alliance with Jaguar and Land Rover. By the end of last year (2018) she played Susana in Las Bodas de Figaro in the United Kingdom.

Artists like Julieth leave the name of a whole country on the stages of theaters abroad, which fills with pride not only Colombia but all of Latin America.
