Will Juventus win the Scudetto again?

The most winning team in the history of all the national championships in Italy, Juventus of Turin, has regained the lead of Serie A, after having lost it almost six months ago. Juventus chased Napoli for more than 24 matches, a team that was delighted with the 'Scudetto' until it suffered two consecutive failures: it fell against Roma and tied against Inter Milan.

Juventus did not falter in its pursuit and while Napoli succumbed La Vecchia Signora managed to triumph over Lazio, Udinese, and Atalanta, the latter in a postponed commitment of the event 26. In the arrival of 29 match of Italian Serie A, the Juventus already marches as the splendid leader, four points behind there is its biggest pursuer, Napoli. Juventus waited, chased, held the pace, and came back from a really complicated league.

Clearing doubts

The 'Juve' was going through a period of uncertainty due to the injuries of some of its stars and an unfavorable result at home in the UEFA Champions League. The injury of Dybala and the subsequent injury of Higuain planted some questions in the black and white team, which needed to beat Tottenham in England and win in Serie A to take advantage of Napoli’s recoil.

The recoveries of Higuain and Dybala occurred at the most appropriate time of the Juventus' season, and with the entire team, it managed to beat Tottenham at Wembley and sealed their passage to the quarterfinals of the Champions League. In the local championship, the situation was similar. The Italian squad managed to beat Lazio as a visitor and defeated Udinese and Atalanta, both in home condition.

February and March were months of doubt, but the hierarchy of Juventus cleared them all and regained the leadership of Serie A.

A throne with its own owner

Italian soccer has always had a club that has excelled over the others in local competitions: Juventus. La Vecchia Signora is the maximum winner of the Italian Cup with 12 titles, being the current three-time champion (in May it will play with Milan for its fourth consecutive final). The team is the most times champion of the Supercopa of Italy along with Milan, with seven titles each, and it is the maximum winner of the Serie A with 31 titles, where it has six consecutive 'Scudettos'.

Juventus has dominated Italian football throughout this decade, but the Serie A season 2017-18 seemed like it could be the end of such dominance at the hands of Napoli. However, the 'Juve' has its name engraved on the throne of Italian soccer and has made respect this label by recovering the leadership that snatched from September 2017.

Juventus is achieving a dream season, in which it could reach a historic treble if it continues with a firm step in Serie A, if the team defeats Milan in the final of the Italian Cup and if it continues to advance in the UEFA Champions League. The 'Juve' seems to be on track for its seventh consecutive league title. This is s historical fact for any of the five major leagues of Europe. The Italian throne seems to still have its own owner.
