Yesterday a new day of demonstrations took place in Venezuela. The marches were called by Juan Guaidó, the new leader of the opposition and president of the Assembly, to demonstrate against the government of Nicolás Maduro. The points of concentration in the city of Caracas were in El Marqués, Santa Fé Distributor, Boulevard del Cafetal, Millenium Shopping Center and Plaza José Martí in Chacaíto. At 9 o'clock in the morning, the demonstrators met at the meeting points, and the national police opened the way for them in the State of Lara.

The demonstrations inside Venezuela

The declarations to the interior of the country were carried out naturally. The deputies of the National Assembly, of which Juan Guaidó is president, began the morning to report on social networks the growth of concentrations in different cities of the country.

Around midday, the president of the assembly took the floor at the Paseo de Las Mercedes to give his speech. First, he summarized the actions of the Assembly in January and how he thought with these to protect the money of the Venezuelans. He also announced humanitarian aid coalitions for Venezuela. According to El Tiempo, the first collection center for humanitarian aid will be in Cúcutaan and there will be a second and third in Brazil and on an island in the Caribbean. He also said that it will be the citizens themselves who will be responsible for helping to get humanitarian aid in Venezuela and that it will be destined for the most vulnerable population, he said, there are between 250,000 and 300,000 Venezuelans at risk of death. Guaidó was emphatic about the importance of citizen mobilization and called for a new day on February 12. Finally, he asked the citizens to continue to mobilize.

Almost simultaneously, Nicolás Maduro spoke on Avenida Bolívar and played the first oath of Hugo Chávez. He also asked citizens for oath. In this sense, there were two marches in Caracas yesterday: that of the ruling party, which celebrated 20 years of the arrival of Hugo Chávez to power; and that of the opposition, which celebrates the recognition of Juan Guaidó as president in charge of the European Union.

The demonstrations outside of Venezuela

Meanwhile, Venezuelans who have migrated to other countries such as Colombia, Spain, Germany, Australia, and Belgium marched in their new homes. For his part, John Bolton, security adviser of the White House announced that the United States would give humanitarian aid to Venezuela and invited the military to support the president of the Assembly Juan Guaidó.
