Jessica Chastain took home the Oscar for Best Actress for "The Eyes of Tammy Faye" during the 94th Academy Awards. The movie stars Chastain as Tammy Faye Bakker and Andrew Garfield as Jim Bakker. Michael Showalter directs this masterpiece that it's based on the true story of Tammy Faye and Jim Bakker. In the 1970s and 80s, Tammy Faye and her husband, Jim Bakker, created the world's largest religious broadcasting network. However, ultimately it was discovered that their immense success also involved a significant amount of scandal.
Behind the knockout performance from Jessica Chastain in "The Eyes of Tammy Faye," there's a woman whose philosophy is to play roles that bring her a certain level of discomfort. In an interview with The National Post, the star revealed, "I always try to feel uncomfortable… I know if I'm playing a role where there's discomfort, then it's something that is forcing me to grow and to rise to meet the challenge."
For example, in the movie "The 355," Chastain plays a tough CIA agent. The idea for the movie came from George Washington's first female spy during the revolution: Agent 355. The all-female "Mission: Impossible" style espionage film is portrayed by some of the most talented and electrifying actresses in the world, including Jessica Chastain, Penélope Cruz, Lupita Nyong'o, and more. Regarding her role in this film, Chastain expressed that she felt anxiety and was definitely not comfortable.

Another role that was a challenge for her to play was Tammy Wynette. The actress brought the First Lady of Country Music back to life in "George & Tammy." But despite all the stress, as always, she explored new sides of herself and was able to deliver a magnificent performance.
One of the biggest lessons that we can learn from Jessica Chastain is that we are unstoppable when we aren't afraid of failure. As she says: "When you fail spectacularly, you learn so much. The greatest way to grow as a human being is to fail; it's not to succeed. The more you put yourself in situations where you can fail, I think the better artist you will be. I'm open to failing spectacularly on any of my projects."
During her acceptance speech at the Oscars, Chastain not only thanked her co-star Andrew Garfield, director Michael Showalter, and her nominated colleagues, but she also took a moment to reflect on the consequences of isolation during the pandemic. Especially suicide, the highest cause of death in the US. She also mentioned the LGBTQ community to talk about the importance of fighting discrimination and promoting a kinder world.
Through her authentic and sincere philosophy, Chastain continues to leave her mark in the industry. The star mentioned Tammy as an inspiration to make radical acts of love through compassion and strong principles. She has inspired her to raise her voice against many unfair cases, including crimes that cause violence and terror.
