COVID-19 dismantled the world we already knew. At first, we saw that strict quarantines were given that caused the labor industry to paralyze or see its activity diminished. By prioritizing those essential activities, what ended up happening is that everything that was considered “secondary” was "presencially suspended".
In other words, we end up getting used to a virtuality, where many industries had to be reconditioned in order to survive, minimizing the risks involved in physical contact . Thus, despite the fact that the vaccine has already been created, the truth is that it will take time to be applied to the majority of the population, so the fear of a "second wave", taking into account what happened in Europe, alerts the planet.
For this reason, the new year can generate many expectations, but the truth is that many issues related to entertainment will remain the same or will mutate even more towards virtuality, at least until the world returns "to normal." Therefore, we review some of the trends to communicate and have fun that will be present in 2021.
Parties by Zoom
One of the first things we had to get used to. Currently, saying Zoom is synonymous with virtuality, since many of the tasks and even meetings we had to adapt to this modality. The increase in users of this system is reflected in the company's shares on the stock market, which grew by 170% due to the pandemic .
For this reason, both birthdays and the different celebrations of the year were given through this application, with the idea of being able to be virtually close, avoiding risks in the face to face. Even Zoom parties are a "fashion" among young people , who saw that the clubs closed. Therefore, they meet and will continue to gather to dance, listen to music and enjoy a few drinks from a distance.
Online casinos
Many casinos on the planet had to close due to the pandemic. Being indoor places, they were considered huge sources of contagion. However, that does not mean that the game activity is over: quite the opposite. While online casinos were an existing trend before COVID-19, they have now become the only option in many countries, prompting more and more people to try them .
For example, the General Agency for the Regulation of Gambling in Spain indicated that online gambling grew by 17.7% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2020, a trend that will surely repeat itself in 2021. We will see this in some Specialized betting websites, which have the same modalities as in real life, although through a computer. For example, poker, blackjack or roulette, in addition to other options, such as sports betting, that will allow players to make profits from the comfort of home.

eSports
Another of the fastest growing industries in recent years. During the pandemic there was an explosion of gaming, which implied an increase of 20% in the number of players and 40% of others who were already there , but who increased their activity, according to a report by Telecom.
In other words, more and more young people are betting on entering the world of eSports, something that comes hand in hand with broadcasts on Twitch, but also with views of the most important events of the year. For example, the 2020 The Game Awards was seen by 83 million people , showing that it is a trend that is here to stay and that it will continue in 2021.
Streaming shows
Artists who relied on live performances were hampered by the pandemic as they were unable to open stadiums or venues for people to flock to. However, they had an ingenious idea: to generate streaming shows, which people can watch from their own homes .
Well, the entertainment world began to explore this alternative. We could see it in the theater, stand-up and even in music recitals. Fans of these shows already consider it a more than viable alternative to see their artists in a different way, so it should not be surprising that, even after the pandemic, they are a complement to face-to-face live shows.
Therefore, we learned about many of the entertainment trends that will continue or increase during 2021, due to the changes that the coronavirus generated in the world.
