Disney announced that the actor who has played Jack Sparrow in five films will no longer be part of the ones that will come. Here we tell you more about it
The saga will start from scratch and all the previous films will be left behind, including Johnny Depp. After the failure in the United States of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, the fifth film of the saga, Disney has decided to make a reboot and to not continue with the previous timeline. So, this would be goodbye to Johnny Depp, who will no longer be playing the pirate Jack Sparrow.

In fact, almost everything will start from scratch. According to Cinemania, only Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of the franchise, will retain his position. Although the reasons are not yet clear, there are those who suspect, like the aforementioned portal, that this was the perfect excuse for Disney to discard the actor.
The scandals that surround it
Neither Disney nor the producers of the saga have made any statement against the actor and so far everything has been done on good terms. However, it can be suspected that the scandals surrounding the personal life of the actor are a reason for this, especially if we take into account that Disney produces content mostly for kids and teenagers.
In 2016, his then-wife, Amber Heard, denounced the actor for domestic violence and showed as evidence photographs of her beaten face. She claimed that the actor had been violent both physically and verbally during the months their marriage lasted. Later the couple filed for divorce.
By then, Depp had already had problems with justice. During the decade of the 90, especially after breaking with his then-girlfriend the actress Winona Ryder, the actor had a party lifestyle. More than once, the actor had to face the police for damages to private property caused by his parties in hotel rooms and violent behavior with the paparazzi.

He has also been in rehabilitation repeatedly due to his problem with alcohol. In 2015, he was invited to present the prize for best documentary at the Hollywood Film Awards, to which he was presented while intoxicated.
Finally, this year has given him something to talk about again for his appearance and for an interview he gave to the Rolling Stone magazine in which his emotional and financial state was opened and told. The actor declared that he is in bankruptcy after his divorce and that he is in a legal battle with the company in charge of his finances. In addition, he said that his relapse has been like no other and that he is in a state of depression.
Other actors that have left the franchise
The saga began being starred by Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Keira Knightley. The last two left after filming the third film, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Both make a return in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Knightley in just a cameo and Bloom returns as his character, Will Turner.
In the fourth film, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Johnny Depp participated and acted alongside the Spanish actress Penelope Cruz.
