The decade that ended brought many triumphs and important events in football. We were also lucky to witness the consolidation of legends in this sport, such as Argentine Lionel Messi and Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, who finished this decade with six and five Golden Balls respectively.
Well, the rivalry of these two players continues and it seems that Messi takes advantage of Ronaldo due to the latest figures of the players who scored most throughout the decade.
1. Lionel Messi
The Argentine leads the list with 522 scores throughout 521 games throughout the decade. A true record considering that Messi finished with more goals than games played. As if that were not enough, the Argentine also came out first when it comes to assists, because in those same 521 games, he made 205.
The Messi decade could not end better. The Argentine managed to finish with the tie he was holding along with Cristiano Ronaldo, since last December he won his sixth prize. “La Pulga” has achieved all these records by the hand of Barcelona, a club to which he belongs since 2000 and in which he has participated in the First Division since 2008.
2. Cristiano Ronaldo
The Portuguese lacked 45 goals to match Messi's record, because during 489 games the Portuguese managed to score 477 goals. For most of the decade, he played under the staff of Real Madrid, a team he was in until 2018, when he was transferred to Juventus.
In his career in Spain, he managed to conquer four Champions League, two King's Cups, and also twice helped Real Madrid take first place in the League of that country. In his new stage with Juventus, he has collaborated with the triumph of the Supercoppa di Lega and the Serie A.
3. Robert Lewandowski
The Polish player enters the top five scorers, since in 454 games he managed to score 324. Lewandowski spent his first decade at Borussia Dortmund, and then at Bayern Munich, the team he currently plays for.
As if being the third player who scored most throughout the decade was not enough, the Polish beat Messi and Ronaldo, and was crowned as the top player in 2019, according to UEFA. In this way, Lewandowski scored 54 goals in 58 games.

Cavani is expected to leave PSG and transfer to Spanish football, specifically to Atlético de Madrid. As the newspaper Le Parisien specifies, the PSG would have stipulated the price of the Uruguayan for 10 million; a high figure that if not achieved in the winter market, could reach the summer market.
5. Luis Suarez
Another Uruguayan who manages to be among the first five players who has scored the most goals, since in 445 games he scored 303 goals. Throughout the decade he played for Ajax, Liverpool and Barcelona, a team he currently plays with.
According to La Liga, he is one of the candidates to be named as “best player of the month of December”, because of the five games he played, he managed to score three goals and make six assists. In addition, it was fourth in most assists given with a total of 171.

Messi termina la década con mas goles que partidos jugados. Completamente ridículo. Es el dueño del fútbol. pic.twitter.com/NiVSVchSDw
