Rumors of a possible reconciliation between Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth

It all started with a thread on Facebook in which fans give reasons to suspect a possible reconciliation between Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth. Both were seen last weekend using their engagement rings. The singer also deleted from her Instagram account all the photos she had with her current boyfriend Cody Simpson and began following her ex-husband Liam again on Twitter. These rumors arrive just before the end of formalizing their divorce, as they have just recently reached an agreement between their lawyers.

"Birds of prey" released

"Birds of prey" was released this week, a film that features Harley Quinn. After the failure of  Suicide Squad and the success of Joaquín Phoenix's Joker, Warner Bros has decided to end the Joker played by Jared Leto. In this film, then, we will see a new group of villains, all women, led by Harley Quinn. The team will consist of three other women looking to emancipate themselves, so it will be, perhaps, a new empowering film.

Spirit awards

Outshined by the Oscars, last Saturday the Spirit Awards were celebrated, rewarding the best of independent cinema. In the category for Best Film, The Farewell won, directed by Lulu Wang and totally ignored by the Academy the next day at the Oscar Awards. The best interpretation of a male character was taken by Adam Sandler for the excellent and also ignored by the Academy, Uncut Gems. Renée Zellweger, on the other hand, won again both the Spirit and Oscar awards for his performance in Judy. The Best Director award was shared by the Safdie brothers for Uncut Gems.

News about the Parasite miniseries

Already before being a success at the Oscars, it had been announced that HBO would produce a miniseries that solved what the film only suggests. This week, after it swept the Academy Awards, more rumors began to spread about this upcoming production. One of them would be that the actor who plays the Incredible Hulk, Mark Ruffalo, has made explicit his desire to participate in this production. He stated it in several interviews and although many details about the miniseries are not yet known, that he stars in it is not entirely ruled out.

The French Dispatch trailer

The trailer for The French Dispatch, the latest film by acclaimed director Wes Anderson, was released this week. As is his style, in the trailer the viewer will see the visual proposal that is usually Anderson's signature. As for the story, it is about a branch of an American newspaper in France. It has a stellar cast, which consists of actors with years of tradition with the director such as Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton and Bill Murray and actors who are popular right now like Timothé Chalamet and Saoirse Ronan.
