Many fans were disgusted with the recent trilogy of this galactic saga. Since Disney took command of the history of the Skywalkers, much of the community has started to believe that the new movies are not up to par with the rest of the franchise.

One of the proofs of this could be seen on the specialized Metacritic site, where Episode IX: The rise of Skywalker was valued with 53 points by critics and 4.9 by users, being a really low score for what we were accustomed to in the saga.

However, the same did not happen with the Mandalorian series. Although almost no one had expectations for this story, the reality is that it was a success that gave a breath of fresh air to these adventures , maintaining the essence of the original films and adding some details that generated unknowns, which will begin to be resolved in the second season.

What do we know about the second season of The Mandalorian?

First, we can say that the series will return in October of this year , according to the media Fotogramas, which comments that Jon Favreau, the mastermind behind this work, confirmed this date to learn more details about the history that nourishes the Star Wars universe.

Of course, one of the points that explains the success of this story is a new character, who changes everything we already knew about the Star Wars universe. We speak about Baby Yoda, whose appearance is a true mystery, although excellently received by fans.

Therefore, in the second season, we could begin to see where he has come from, which will also help us understand the original Yoda, since there is no official information about the in-show existence of one of the most powerful Jedi masters in history.

Similarly, the main character, Din Djarin, played by actor Pedro Pascal, will also follow a similar storyline, so he could be the one to start investigating a little more about the race of this cute baby.

Anyway, we must remember that this bounty hunter has his own personal conflicts with the group led by Moff Gideon, who seeks to experiment with Baby Yoda. It will also explain what relationship he has with one of the last scenes of the first season, where we saw him carry a mysterious lightsaber of dark light, with an unusual form.

Will we see more known characters in the second season?

To understand this, we must know that this series, whose first season was 8 episodes, occurs five years after the fall of the Empire in Episode VI: Return of the Jedi , before the emergence of the First Order. Then, according to what the site IndieWire says, we could see other familiar characters in the saga.

Speculations, in this case, point to Boba Fett, who had supposedly died in Episode VI: The Return of the Jedi, although we later learned, thanks to the novels of the expanded universe, that he had survived, making him one of the more viable options to appear in the second season.

However, this not all. The fact that Emperor Palpatine has returned in Episode IX: Skywalker's rise could be relevant to the series . In particular, we talk about the possibility of explaining how the character played by Ian McDiarmid survived after his alleged death at the hands of Darth Vader in the destruction of the Second Death Star.

Especially, it could serve to give solid arguments about the genetic manipulation of Snoke, since in the last film we learned that he was a simple puppet of one of the main villains of this whole saga. Therefore, the series could perfectly explain how the Empire resurfaced from the ashes to make way for the First Order, but it will take a few months to see it on the Disney Plus platform.
