Disney Plus is one of the most prominent streaming services of the moment. Available since November of last year, the popularity of Disney Plus has been increasing, since almost all the productions of Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars are included in a single platform.

Basically, the service managed to surpass 73 million subscribers in the first year, becoming a real success due to all the productions. Faced with this launch scenario, we decided to go through the catalog and see the essential movies you should watch on Disney Plus.

Star Wars: A New Hope (1977)

We started with a production that was not actually made by Disney, although it now belongs to them. In case you didn't know, in 2012 Walt Disney bought the rights to Star Wars and producer LucasFilm, paying almost $ 4 billion for the franchise.

Therefore, it was logical that, at the arrival of this platform, the entire Star Wars saga was present. So you can start with this first movie in the George Lucas saga, which is actually the fourth in chronological order. It is one of the most iconic films in the history of cinema, which marked a before and after in science fiction by introducing jaw-dropping special effects for the time.

The Lion King (1994)

Perhaps the most important film that Walt Disney itself produced. To speak of The Lion King is to mention a classic of animated cinema, which, from the specialized perspective of Cinemascomics, has “everything you need”, since every element of it works.

When the studio saw the potential it had, it knew that the Disney universe could be amplified more and more. Therefore, we will find characters with clear motivations, incredible animations for the time, and a narrative structure that has emotion, in addition to iconic moments in the cinema.

Toy Story (1995)

Another of the great qualitative leaps in the history of animation, which, due to its enormous success, became a saga. This feature film “changed the history of cinema”, since it was the first film that was created entirely by computer, marking a before and after in the industry.

Basically, the great technical work at the CGI level stands out, which supposed very high standards for the time. Best of all, the film does not lose its validity, since, no matter if the protagonists are toys, they have completely human emotions. Therefore, it is a story of jealousy, love and arguments, but, above all, friendship.

The Avengers (2012)

Not everyone may know it, but Marvel is also owned by the Walt Disney Company. It happened in 2009, when the mouse company decided to buy the mythical superhero franchise for about 2,800 million dollars, at which point they decided to launch a huge film plan.

Since 2008, when Iron Man was released, they launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Many characters with their own stories were introduced, but they would converge into a general story, which would reach its most iconic moments in the tapes that grouped them together.

The first installment, from the year 2012, was the moment when fans saw all their favorite superheroes on the big screen. Conceived as a true blockbuster, it basically means a movie so fun that nobody wants it to end. Therefore, it is a vital film to see.

All these productions are essential within the platform. If you haven't seen them, they are vital to understanding how the film industry works. If you have already done so, it is always a good time to review them.
