Although the gap between men and women is still large, every year the salaries of female soccer players increase more and more. Here we bring you the five who earn the most worldwide. Not surprisingly, most of them have belonged to American soccer team or the USWNT (the United States national team), as this country spends large amounts of money on women's soccer.
1. Carli Lloyd – $ 518,000 per year
With a professional career spanning over two decades, American Carli LLoyd currently plays for NJ / NY Gotham FC . Lloyd is one of the most successful female midfielders who is still active today. She was a two-time Women's World Cup winner (2015 and 2019), a two-time Olympic gold medalist (2008 and 2012), and a two-time FIFA Player of the Year (2015 and 2016) . He has had a long career that is in its final period, but that leaves us with impressive numbers. LLoyd has scored 124 goals in 301 appearances for the USWNT, as well as 62 assists.
2. Samantha Kerr – $ 500,000 per year
This Australian player plays for Chelsea's women's division . This forward is also the captain of the Australian womens national team. Kerr, 27, has been playing professional soccer for Perth Glory FC since she was 15 years old. She also has numerous individual accomplishments, but perhaps the most impressive is the fact that she is the all-time top scorer in the regular season of American professional soccer and has 77 goals in 119 games.
3. Alex Morgan – $ 450,000 per year
Morgan is a forward for Orlando Pride and is perhaps one of the most popular soccer players (men and female) in the history of the sport . This American is one of the most prolific scorers this country has produced. In 175 appearances for the USWNT, she has made 109 goals and 43 assists. Throughout her career, Morgan has won two World Cups (2015, 2019) and an Olympic medal in 2012 , as well as several other individual achievements.
