María Camila Osorio Makes History in Colombian Tennis

María Camila Osorio Serrano, from Cúcuta city, is only 21 years old and has become one of the great promises of world tennis. Last week after reaching the semifinals of the Lyon Open, the Colombian tennis player climbed 12 places in the official ranking of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), reaching number 61, thus adding 913 points. This makes it the number one racket in Colombia today.

The athlete was defeated in the semifinals of the open that was played on French soil by local tennis player Caroline Garcia, with a final score of 6-2 and 6-2. In this way they gave her a push to start competing in the National Games, where she won a silver medal for the first time in 2015, when she was only 13 years old.
