The Federation of Women Managers Joins The Requests For The Disqualification of Rubiales

The Spanish Federation of Women Managers, executives, professionals and businesswomen (Fedepe) has urged this Thursday the Higher Sports Council (CSD) to disqualify Luis Rubiales as president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), as they have previously requested other women's associations and trade unions.

In a statement, Fedepe asks both the RFEF itself and the CSD to process the disqualification of Rubiales after the kiss on the mouth that he gave to the player Jennifer Hermoso after the World Cup final and given "his null will to resign and in coherence with the social commitment to gender equality in the sporting framework".

Fedepe has stressed that it strongly condemns "any conduct that undermines the dignity of women, especially in an area as relevant as sport, especially at a time of worldwide audience."

"Similarly, we want to show our satisfaction at the widespread reaction of public opinion that has condemned this display of sexism and unacceptable discrimination, revalidating social progress in terms of raising awareness of the pillars of equality", added the federation of associations of women managers.

Fedepe has also appreciated that Hermoso and his teammates from the soccer team have channeled their dialogue through the FutPro union, given that "this matter is not a one-off issue, it is the sign of a structural problem in society and, therefore, deserves a collective treatment".

Fedepe has thus joined the requests for the disqualification of Rubiales that have also been expressed by the Women's Soccer League, the Association of Women in Professional Sports and the UGT and CCOO unions, among other associations.
