In 2016, the first CILAC Forum was held in Montevideo, Uruguay, with the slogan "Transforming our region: Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development in Latin America and the Caribbean". This year and until the 24th of the same month, the main actors in the sectors of science, technology and innovation, as well as other people called to participate, will meet in Panama City, Panama.

The motto is "Science connects: Sustainable Territories" and the objective is to discuss the challenges that this region still faces in order to achieve what is proposed in the agenda approved by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, and to exchange knowledge on how to achieve this. However, this is not only sought through science and technology, but also with art and culture.

Educating through science, technology and art

For a whole week, Panama City will be filled with science, technology and art in each of its streets. "CILAC will not be limited to the Forum to be held on days 22, 23 and 24 at the Wyndham Hotel or to side events at the City of Knowledge, but it will be moved to different places in the city to celebrate actions with the citizens", explains in the same portal.

From October 18 to 27, different activities will be carried out that can be found in the agenda of the "Open City", such as robotics workshops, exhibitions and other activities in museums, a stand up entitled "Scientific Monologues with Big Van Science" and even a musical about "Christiane Dosne Pasqualini, a fundamental international figure in the investigation of leukemia".

There are also workshops for young people, such as the Scientific Leadership workshop that will be held on October 20 and 21, and whose call is already closed. For more information you can check here
