“The 2022 Right Livelihood Award recipients are grassroots activists who are dedicated to strengthening their communities. In the face of failed governance and the breakdown of order, which includes wars, terrorism, extractivism, mass displacement and economic crises, they have established new systems that put human beings at the center. Their successes show us that we can build societies based on the foundations of justice and not exploitation,” said Ole von Uexkull, Executive Director of Right Livelihood. The awards ceremony will take place on November 30 in the city of Stockholm.
