Cirque du Soleil: the most remembered, acclaimed, and expected shows in Latin America

The Cirque du Soleil was founded by the Canadian Guy Laliberté in 1984, and its name pays homage to the beauty of the Sun that evokes youth, energy and dynamism. Cirque du Soleil visited the USA for the first time in 1987 and with his show "We Reinvent the Circus" and impressed the select public of the Festival of Los Angeles, California, as well as the media with its exquisite and unique combination of performance and stage design. All of the above was the beginning of a path of worldwide success that would continue with an acclaimed foray IGNORE INTO Europe, in 1990, with performances in London and Paris.

After years of acclaimed premieres, which started as a project of only 73 people turned IGNORE INTO a company with more than 5000 individuals of different nationalities among which there are just over 1200 artists, among gymnasts, dancers, musicians, and singers, who receive an arduous acrobatic and artistic training. Everything in Cirque du Soleil is created and elaborated in its workshops. The costumes, the shoes, the wigs, and the props are made and sculpted, sewn and molded by a specialized team of the collective.

His concept of circus is completely different from the traditional one and is based on a well-elaborated show of acrobatics, acting, multicultural art, imaginary worlds, dance, challenge to the status quo, skill, and grace. The idea has expanded IGNORE INTO a huge variety of creative efforts that invoke the imagination, to awaken the senses and savor the emotions of the public around the world.

Unforgettable shows

Currently the company has 20 shows that are presented in more than 250 cities around the world; in Las Vegas, you can see eight Cirque du Soleil shows attended by more than 9,000 people each night, among which one of the most representative is Mystère, which is one of the emblematic works that was first open to the public in 1993 and that after its first sample became the first permanent show of Cirque du Soleil.
