Two recent studies from the University of Oxford affirm that AstraZeneca combined with vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 improves the immunization of the organism in spaces of up to 45 weeks. This was determined in several analyzes where the behavior of the vaccines subjected to the mixture of antidotes was observed.

Efficacy of the anti-SARS-CoV-2 antidote combination

The efficacy is up to four times higher, multiplying the first four-week interval in the combination of the AstraZeneca vaccine with the German BioNTech (Pfizer). This mixture was efficient in increasing the protection response to SARS-CoV-2.

According to reports generated by various researchers, COVID-19 vaccines have not decreased their effectiveness in tests. The success of the injections has not wavered, but in combination with others at intervals of several months, it strengthens the immune system more than getting the vaccine alone.

According to Jonathan Van-Tam, a doctor in England, combining two types of antidotes can increase the effectiveness of vaccines against COVID-19 and SARS-CoV-2.

Hope for increased immunity to the virus

Professor Andrew Pollard, who works at the Oxford Vaccine Groupo, has said that these results generate tranquility in populations, especially in countries with less power. In the presence of economic problems that prevent the supply of vaccines to all territories, this news raises hopes in many regions.

Recent studies need more evidence to determine whether another third dose is truly needed to increase protection from infections of coronavirus and its variants. More observations are needed to indicate the need for boosting doses in vaccines.

A possible third dose

According to the author of the research, Teresa Lambe, it is not yet known if additional booster doses are necessary. It may be essential to increase the body's defenses to attack the variants of the virus with more power.

The need for a third vaccine is also under analysis, as it is observed that it would be advantageous for the immune system, benefiting the antibodies. If this result continues to be ratified, the impact on the prevention of COVID-19 will be very favorable.

Intervals between vaccines increase protection

According to other recent research at the University of Oxford, combining AstraZeneca / Oxford vaccines with BioNTech / Pfizer vaccines within four weeks improves the immunity of vaccinated people against SARS-CoV-2.

The study determined that the efficacy of vaccines varies according to the order of their composition in which a combination of AstraZeneca with a Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine was tested and a better immune system response was observed. In the opposite case, the reaction was not greater in the first dose mix.

The United Kingdom is analyzing the results of the combination of COVID-19 vaccines by observing 12 weeks with the placement of both doses. This study tries to observe the behavior of the organism before immunization to determine a new vaccine plan for this country.
