Pixar is one of the most important references in current animation cinema. For more than two decades, they have offered stories that are enjoyed by viewers of all ages and regions. Their productions usually contain powerful messages, but presented in a way that is understandable by all audiences. Examples of this are "Coco" (2017) which talks about death and family; “Soul” (2020) which presents an existentialist vision of the meaning of life, or more recently; “Turning red” (2022), which addresses with ease and humor issues such as puberty, menstruation, the mother-daughter relationship and the need to define personal identity when the transition from childhood to adolescence occurs. Pixar has already announced what the next movie is that it is working on. It is "Elemental", a film that will tell the story of anthropomorphic beings related to natural elements.
Here we will tell you everything you need to know about Pixar's 27th film.
What will “Elementary” be about?
One of Pixar's most fruitful strategies is to endow different types of objects and beings with consciousness and feelings to, from this, develop captivating and emotional stories. With this idea, he made his film debut in 1995 when he recounted in "Toy Story" the adventures of a group of toys with a life of their own. This same line is followed by titles such as “Finding Nemo” (2003), “Cars” (2006), “Inside Out” (2015), among others. Now Pixar repeats its successful formula, humanizing the 4 natural elements. The official synopsis for the film reads as follows:
“In a city where the residents of fire, water, earth and air live together, a passionate young woman and a boy who goes with the flow will discover something elemental: how much they have in common”
In a city where fire, water, land, & air residents live together, a fiery young woman & a go-with-the-flow guy will discover something elemental: How much they have in common. As can be seen, the film will deal with a whole society whose inhabitants are related to the aforementioned elements and the story will review the differences and meeting points of these beings of a different nature.

Director
The direction of the film is in charge of Peter Sohn, who already worked with Pixar as director in the short "Partly Cloudy" and the movie "The Good Dinosaur". Sohn has stated that the film draws heavily on his experience and that of his parents as immigrants in the United States.
“My parents emigrated from Korea in the early 1970s and built a busy store in the Bronx,” the director stated. “We were among many families who ventured into a new land with hopes and dreams, all mixed up in one big salad bowl of cultures, languages, and beautiful little neighborhoods. That's what got me into Elemental."
The producer is Denise Ream, who has worked on “The Good Dinosaur” and “Cars 2”.
What will be released before Elemental?
"Elemental" is Pixar's bet for 2023. It will hit theaters in June of the other year. But before that happens, this animation studio has already prepared another premiere, "Lightyear", a spin-off of "Toy Story" that can be seen from June 17. The film will tell the origin story of the human astronaut who inspired the action figure.
This film has the participation of Chris Evans ("Captain America"), Taika Waititi ("Jojo Rabbit"), James Brolin and Keke Palmer. Directed by Angus MacLane, co-director of “Finding Dory” (2016)
“Elemental”, in short, is a film whose mission is to satisfy the high technical and narrative expectations that the public places on Pixar productions.
