Another standout performance was Miley Cyrus's pre-show alongside Billy Idol and Joan Jett, in which she featured her rock star voice. Her fantastic music makes us miss past shows like the incredible collaboration between Shakira and JLo. Let's take a look at the most iconic performances by female artists at the Super Bowl.
Jennifer Lopez and Shakira
Jennifer Lopez and Shakira brought the Latin woman to the stage of the Superbowl in Miami last year. They played a few songs together, including "Waka Waka" and "Let's Get Loud." JLo did justice to her Puerto Rican roots by displaying impressive movements and the power of her voice. Meanwhile, Shakira again impressed all the fans with her hip movements, iconic performance, musical talent, and beauty. The Colombian singer took the stage and performed her hits in the United States, including "She Wolf" and "Whenever, Wherever."
Lady Gaga
The "Bad Romance" singer hung herself from suspension cables at Super Bowl 51 after singing a mix of "God Bless America" and "This Land Is Your Land." Then the artist took the stage to perform a mashup of her greatest hits. Somersaults in the air with high-flying cables, fireworks, and an illuminated sky filled with 300 American flag-shaped drones, it's safe to say that Lady Gaga raised the Super Bowl Half Time Show.

Katy Perry
The internet exploded during the show, mainly because Katy's dancers dressed up as adorable sharks. The superstar made her entrance with "Roar," riding a huge animatronic tiger. She then dropped the beat to "Dark Horse" and was surrounded by dancers in cool metallic mosaic costumes. The crowd went wild when Katy began singing her hit "Teenage Dream," featuring moving palm trees, surfboards, beach balls, and sharks. The "California Girls" singer closed out her performance with "Firework" decked out in a star dress as she ascended the field like a shooting star.
Beyoncé
In 2013, when Beyoncé took the halftime out of acting solo for the first time, she left audiences speechless. Though the icon had the stage all to herself, she brought back Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for a genuinely epic performance of Destiny's Child, making her one of the best of all time. She performed some of her greatest hits like "Run the World (Girls)," "Crazy in Love," "End of Time," and "Love on Top."
Madonna
The Queen of Pop took the stage at Super Bowl 46 at halftime and gave a stellar performance alongside Nicky Minaj and LMFAO, to name a few. Madonna really knows how to put on a show, and she can do it in heels. More than just your average pop star, Madonna is an artist who has had hits for decades. What's admirable is that she was 54 when she rocked the Superbowl stadium. Madonna performed four songs: "Vogue," "Music" with LMFAO, "Give Me All Your Luvin" with Nicky Minaj and M.I.A., and "Prayer."
It's amazing how women now lead the music industry of all backgrounds, races, and countries. Music unites us all. It doesn't matter what genre you are a fan of. We can all agree that female artists are topping the music charts for the past few years. Which of these performances is your favorite?
