Will Karol G Establish Herself as Queen of the Latin Pop with “Mañana Será Bonito”?

With the mountainous landscape of Medellín in the background, after eating empanada and talking on the phone with a child, Karol G announced "Mañana Será Bonito", her new studio album. The project will be released on February 24th and several collaborations have already been revealed.

With this new work, the woman from Antioquia leaves behind the concept of "KG0516", an album with which she was conquering the main stages of the world. There are already confirmed collaborations and a couple that would be a surprise for the release date.

Who is part of the album?

So far it has been revealed by the singles that Romeo Santos, Maldy and Ovy On The Drums are fixed on the tracklist. Additionally, both Spotify and Apple Music reveal that Carla Morrison, Sech, Bad Gyal, Sean Paul, Justin Quiles, Angel Dior and Quevedo are other permanent collaborations.

However, Karol G herself revealed in an interview with The New York Times that Shakira is another of the guest artists on the song "TQG". Additionally, Genius -song lyrics platform- ensures that Nicki Minaj will be a surprise collaboration on the song "Besties". It is worth noting that the greatest success of both in 'streaming' was "Tusa".

Among other invited artists that cause the most expectation for those who follow Karol G is the collaboration with Feid. Between the two, there have been rumors that they are a couple, but none have confirmed it. The truth is that the marketing campaign gives many clues that he could be in this project.

In the musical production, Ovy On The Drums is the great star of the album, since he is in charge of most of the 'beats'. From what the Genius platform reveals, Edge, Rolo, Tainy and Finneas -Billie Eilish's brother- would also participate in some songs as producers of "Mañana Será Bonito".

While the first marketing piece for "Mañana Sera Bonito" had a sweet tinge to it, what followed was much more daring. "X Si Volvemos" with Romeo Santos was the only single that the artist released after the announcement of the album. She had previously released "Provence", "Cairo" and "Gatúbela".

After that came the video about "Besties", using a WhatsApp chat where she talks with her friends. It is from this song that a collaboration with Nicki Minaj is rumored, since the written dialogue is in English, although she later sends a voice note in Spanish. Next, the Colombian released a video in which she is seen making a collage with stickers from Sean Paul and Bad Gyal.

Perhaps the most talked about video is the one in which she is in a bathtub telling her friend about the nocturnal adventure she had the night before in Puerto Rico. That video promotes the song "Dañamos la amistad" and is followed by another referring to the song "Tus Gafitas", where she shows glasses similar to the ones used by Feid.

After performing at Coachella and doing his world tour, Karol G is about to release what will be his fourth studio album. After reaching the top of the urban genre, 2023 will be the year in which it could be consolidated as the absolute queen of the urban genre. Everything will depend on how "Mañana Sera Bonito" is, an album that visually and conceptually gives off a warm vibe, similar to "Un Verano Sin Ti" by Bad Bunny.
