The Brazilian Alisson Becker, the Dutch Virgil van Dijk and Frenkie de Jong and the Senegalese Sadio Mané, among other players, were selected as candidates for the best player awards by position of the 2018/2019 Champions League to be awarded by UEFA during the group draw next August 29 in Monaco.

As voted, the Brazilian Alisson Becker (Liverpool), the Frenchman Hugo Lloris (Tottenham) and the German Marc-André ter Stegen (Barcelona) are the three goalkeepers who opt for the 'best goalkeeper' award.
In the defense, it is the Englishman Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) and the Dutch Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) and Matthijs de Ligt (who played the Champions League with Ajax but now plays for Juventus) who won the most votes.
The Danish Christian Eriksen (Tottenham), the Englishman Jordan Henderson (Liverpool) and the Dutchman Frenkie de Jong (Ajax, but currently in Barcelona) are the three midfielders who stand above the rest.
