Leer en español: Los 5 peores juegos de la historia
When we talk about a good video game, there are generally several parameters that we stick to . Among them, we look for an entertaining story, an addictive and friendly gameplay or a good production in general, to name a few examples. However, there are installments that tend to disappoint, causing community discontent.
According to Meristation, that is arguably what happened with Warcraft 3: Reforged, an installment that sought to adapt a classic 2002 strategy game to today, although it did very poorly, due to unfulfilled promises that led to a crisis for Blizzard, the company in charge of the game.
Thus, we decided to make a top 5 of the worst games in history , which are those in which absolutely nothing went as planned. Some of them are even so bad that they are considered cult games, the kind that you have to play at least once in your life to see what were they thinking when the developers released it.
5. Superman: The New Superman Adventures (1999)
In this case, we are talking about a game that came out for Nintendo 64, being the first where the superhero appeared in 3D. Despite the enormous enthusiasm within the fans, who wanted to put themselves in the shoes of one of the most iconic characters in DC Comics, the result was catastrophic.
According to what the Vandal site mentions, we were not in the presence of a game, but of a collections of pixels. The gameplay was lousy, something that could be appreciated when flying through the rings. Similarly, the graphical interface was too amateurish, something that was noticeable when walking through the flat streets of the city, picking up cars to throw.
4. Custer's Revenge (1982)
This game was released for the Atari 2600 . The premise was simple, but also reprehensible: we played a naked man with a cowboy hat, who must overcome various obstacles to rape an indigenous woman tied to a cactus.
Despite its scandalous plot, the game sold about 80,000 units at $ 50 each, due to its controversial nature. Therefore, it occupies this position not so much for its gameplay (which was also quite simple), but for the message it was trying to get to the audience.

3. Link: The Faces of Evil (1993)
Despite the fact that Zelda is one of Nintendo's most cared-for franchises, there was a time when they had a pact with Philips. Basically, the Japanese company could make a CD-ROM drive, but in return it promised to give up a license for the CD-i console, so Link, the protagonist of the story, appeared in this game.
Basically, we are talking about a game that triggered some memes on the Internet, because of the very primitive animation of the characters of the saga. However, in the gameplay section, things did not improve, since the game had mediocre graphics, with very unattractive landscapes and with really uncomfortable controls. Despite being bad, many people consider it a funny game, which is why it is considered “cult”.
2. ET The Extraterrestrial (1982)
This was a game for the Atari 2600, generated by the success of the Steven Spielberg movie. It was produced in a hurry (only in five weeks), which is why it had really mediocre graphics , even for the time, combining them with confusing gameplay. In other words, not only did it have control problems, but also programming problems.
Such was the failure of E.T that, for a long time, there was a myth that ran through the Internet, which ensured the existence of millions of copies buried in the desert. According to what the BBC media comments, in 2014 this theory was proven true, after an excavation carried out in New Mexico, where many cartridges were found that demonstrated that this game should never have come to light.
1.Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing (2003)
In the first place we come across a truck racing game that was released for PC, which, according to the specialized site Metacritic, has a score of 8 out of 100. The reasons are many, but it could be summed up in that it is a game that doesn't work from any aspect.
In the previous cases we saw bad executions of the objectives, but here there is nothing. Supposedly we could compete with other trucks in races, but their artificial intelligence kept them from moving. Likewise, the game's poor stages has obstacles that can be crossed, in addition to the physics being unreal, for example, there is no speed limit when driving in reverse.
