Can a magical world be transferred to the screens? That question had been asked when they decided that the Harry Potter books would hit theaters. However, given its success, new products also emerged … such as video games. Before the 55th birthday of the "mother of Harry Potter" earlier this month, we decided to see which were the most important games in the saga.
Let's remember that, despite the fact that the main films are over, the magical world seems to constantly expand, especially in video games. For example, recently the CNet website highlighted that Microsoft could acquire Warner Bros, which is behind the Hogwarts franchise.
It even seems that there are other very interesting video games that would be in development. The specialized medium Hypertextual highlights that "new details of the future Harry Potter RPG game" were revealed, which would be open world and would be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Given this scenario, we decided to review all the most interesting and engaging deliveries of the child that lived.
LEGO Harry Potter Collection (PC) – 2016
LEGO is a franchise for children, which is dedicated to recreating different worlds and adventures through the classic blocks. In this case, we see a really funny installment, which enjoys all the essence of the magical world, reviewing the 8 films of the saga.
According to the specialized website of Desconsolados, all the humor will be due to “mimicry, actions and fun when it comes to representing the most remembered actions” , so it is a new point of view to remember the most important events.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (PS3) – 2009
It is one of the last titles that were released on the original story, but also one of those that respected the adventure essence of the saga. That is to say, the following ones would be transformed into authentic shooters, but here the exploration was still intact.
The ability to play the mythical sport of Quidditch and the missions to perform make it a fantastic game. The ZonaRed website highlights that we can attend some of the many classes taught at Hogwarts, with mini-games to make potions, with a game style oriented to freedom of scenarios.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (PC) – 2004
Here we refer to one of the books and movies most loved by fans of the saga, so everyone expected a video game adaptation that lived up to expectations … and that's what happened.
In the game of the third adventure of the young wizard we could not only control him, but also his two close friends: Ron and Hermione, being the main novelty of this edition. Each of them had unique abilities for spells, so we could see the events of the saga with each other's perspective.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (PSX) – 2002
A game very similar to the previous one launched for the legendary PSX, but that polished several of the details of the first. MeriStation's specialized website highlighted at the time that the graphic aspect "is brilliant and very detailed," where you can breathe the magical air of Hogwarts, but also of other iconic places, such as Flourish and Blotts.
The really great thing about this title is that it perfectly recreates the universe proposed by the author, not only in the books, but also in the movies. Therefore, we can review the most important events of this story, all through the classic freedom of exploration characteristic of these games.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (PS2) – 2003
This particular game was a renewal of the one that was released for the original PlayStation, although, as mentioned by the specialized Vandal website, it would be an "improved version", both in terms of graphics and gameplay.
What we have is a great title however you look at it. The freedom of exploration, the appearance of puzzles and the use of spells that are learned throughout the story is maintained, with a very addictive game system that represents the spirit of the young wizard. Now is a good time to play any of them again!
