The world of cinema is in mourning. According to what the Page 12 website reports, Chadwick Boseman, a true "tireless fighter", died. This is an actor who was gaining special importance in the world of superheroes, due to his leading role in Marvel's highly acclaimed Black Panther, which had its second installment scheduled for 2022.

Knowing that, according to what the BBC website says, this character was considered "a milestone in cinema" due to embodying the first black superhero protagonist , we decided to see the film career of the man who caused a social revolution for  most young people, reviewing some of his best films and performances.

Gods of Egypt (2016)

This film began to show us a bit of the "massive epic", as mentioned by Espinof's specialized website, for which this actor would later prepare at Marvel. In this film, the actor plays the god of wisdom Thoth. His performance was well used by director Alex Proyas, to the point where it seems over the top.

The important thing is that, in this case, we were able to see a movie with a devilish rhythm, where the production involved a huge preparation, something that would later be replicated in Marvel and the Avengers tapes. For now, it meant a good turning point for the young American's career.

Marshall (2017)

Here we saw him, unlike the previous one, in a leading role. Basically, he acts as the first African-American Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, demonstrating, again, that he is a figure of importance for this racial community of the country.

According to the specialized website of Filmfilicos, we are talking about a legal and biographical drama, directed by Reginald Hudlin. In this film, we see a good perspective in terms of photography and lighting, as well as a story that, although not revolutionary, managed to position the actor in the world of Hollywood.

Black Panther (2018)

Here we come to the consecration, not only of the actor, but also of one of the most iconic Marvel characters . According to what the Hobbyconsolas medium commented, this film managed to get 3 Oscars in 2019, being directed by Ryan Coogler and with a phenomenal performance by Chadwick Boseman.

There we arrived in the fictional country of Wakanda, where we were able to observe African customs, along with an incredible soundtrack and an amazing photograph. In addition, we managed to fully empathize with the decisions of our protagonist, knowing both his ailments and his motivations.

21 Bridges (2019)

This action thriller was directed by Brian Kirk, showing us, again, that Chadwick Boseman could perfectly embody different characters . Here he is put in charge of a New York police detective, who decides to close the 21 bridges in Manhattan to find two alleged police killers.

Therefore, according to the Meta Magazine, he will try to redeem himself, catching the different criminals that the story presents. Although the story is somewhat predictable, it shows how police corruption works and how rotten a system can become. 

Da 5 Bloods (2020)

We come to the actor's last film, where, according to the Hypertextual website, he demonstrates the ambition of the director, Spike Lee, who is in top form. This premiered on Netflix and commented on the nature of injustice, racism, and issues of culture.

From the actor's own performance, who plays Norman Earl Holloway, to the political issues addressed by the director , it is a film that tells the story of a group of veterans of the Vietnam War who return to the country to search for the remains of their fallen commander.

While waiting for what will happen with the production of Black Panther 2, for now we observe that this actor, who died as a result of a fight against colon cancer, had a huge future and managed to show that cinema can be united with political struggles, especially those of the African American community.
