Love, fashion, friendship and sex will once again be present in the city with the return of one of the stories that made thousands of people fall in love in the nineties: "Sex and the City". After 94 episodes, six seasons and two movies, HBO Max will bet on nostalgia to try to lead streaming with this reboot called "And just like that", which promises to give us laughter, tears and give us back a bit of youth with these new adventures.

On December 9 we will see the trio of friends (formerly a quartet) with the most glamor in New York back, and as expected, actress Sarah Jessica Parker will be at the forefront of this new project. However, despite the excitement of seeing these women back, most fans of the series wonder if the reboot of "Sex and the City" will have the success of the original and, in addition, how they will develop the plot without one of its essential characters.

What will the reboot of "Sex and the City" bring us?

Rebooting is far from easy, but if the mastermind that started it all is back, success will be a matter of time. Precisely, Michael Patrick King was the director, writer and producer of "Sex and the City" and will also lead the project now called "And just like that". And it is that in this version 2021-2022, the facts of the main argument will be resumed with the plus that we will see a jump in time to know the news of Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York.

In the first instance, the series will have ten chapters that promise to give us back those airs of hope, romantic drama and feminism, scenarios that at the time managed to attract thousands of fans due to the good development of their protagonists. Likewise, the years of absence will not be an excuse to show us once again the best of fashion in New York City, with the only difference that now it will be in a stage of maturity on the part of its characters.

As the final trailer showed us, we will see a Carrie with an uncertain future, in a relationship with Mr. Big, and embracing new changes with her inseparable friends Miranda and Charlotte, who in turn will also be writing their own paths. To all this we must add the incorporation of new characters into the story; George, a non-binary fashion student; Lisa Todd Wexley, a mother and documentary director; Nya Wallace, a law professor; and Seema Patel, a real estate agent.

"And just like that": distribution and data to take into account

As mentioned above, Sarah Jessica Parker will lead the cast of this "Sex and the City" reboot and, of course, will be joined by Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. Along with them will also be present Chris Noth (Mr. Big), John Corbett (Aidan Shaw), David Eigenberg (Steve Brady), Evan Handler (Harry Goldenblatt), Mario Cantone (Anthony Marentino), Sara Ramírez (Che Díaz), Nicole Ari Parker (Lisa Todd Wexley), Sarita Choudhury (Seema Patel) and Karen Pittman (Nya Wallace).

On the other hand, one of the interesting facts that has attracted the most attention from fans has to do with its main character: Carrie Bradshaw. And it is that very few know that Sarah Jessica Parker has a condition imposed in the clause of her contract about not doing nudity, in fact, she was the only star who did not do it while the show lasted. But that has a reason and it is because the actress has never felt comfortable with nudity on screen or risque scenes, something that even made her doubt being part of the reboot.

In turn, the news that has caused the most stir since the series was announced is the absence of Kim Cattrall, who played one of the essential characters of the plot as Samantha Jones. The reason for this is due to the enmity that arose between Cattrall and Parker while the series was being filmed in the nineties. Given this, there are several theories about how they will justify Samantha's absence in this plot and everything indicates that she continued her successful career in another city and that she also stopped maintaining contact with Carrie.

In short, "And just like that" aims to be a reunion full of love, drama and nostalgia. There we will witness how a friendship can last over time, how age will not be an impediment to continue enjoying sex and adventures, as well as seeing the news in New York and the impact of social networks today.
