Argentina's Lollapalooza 2022 was held on March 18, 19 and 20. With more than 300 thousand people confirmed by the organizing company, the truth is that there were many shows that lived up to expectations. Thanks to this success, next year there will be a new edition of this festival!
In case you didn't know, this show was scheduled to take place in 2020, but had to be canceled due to the coronavirus. Two years later, how has each day of Lollapalooza 2022 been? Here we will tell you.
Friday
The first day was by far the most eventful. The long lines to enter (more than two hours long, in some cases) were explained by Miley Cyrus, the main headliner of the event. She hadn't been to Argentina since 2014.
At the time, she was just getting started with her solo career, moving away from the hits of Hannah Montana. Now, she has become a true "rockstar", which leads the media to consider her a true living legend and the "new" Joan Jett.

The truth is that her show exceeded expectations. She was very close to the public, mentioning on several occasions that she had a great desire to be in Argentina. The fans were euphoric before a repertoire of songs that they considered classics such as 7 Things, Party on the USA or See You Again, as well as covers such as Jolene or Heart of Glass.
Earlier, Marina's show was surprising, showing a great vocal performance and a very close relationship with the public. A$ap Rocky, Duki and Airbag, failed to stand out, except when they played their most iconic songs. The closure of Bizarrap, one of the artists of the moment was one of the best at Lolla.
Saturday
Saturday was also another long-awaited day. After all, it meant the return of one of the most important international rock bands: The Strokes. They had also been present at the 2017 Lollapalooza edition, when they were very close to the Argentine public, one of their "favorites" in their words.
On that occasion, they had done something unprecedented: entering the stage with a cumbia.
"Algún día daremos un show normal en Argentina" – Julian Casablancas.
The Strokes cerraron el día 2 de Lollapalooza Argentina con un show tan hermoso como el de 2017. Mucha cumbia, charla de bar entre temas y la re-validación de que en ningún lado los quieren más que acá ???????? pic.twitter.com/1nCnXGIi7d

Now, did the show live up to expectations? The answer is no. They entered 20 minutes late, something that worried the fans. In the same way, its singer, Julian Casablancas, was really upset and did not know how to offer his best performance.
Although they played some highly rated songs, such as Razorblade (cumbia version), Eternal Summer or Reptilia, the mood of the group was not the best, since the singer forgot the songs or did not achieve his best vocal tones. The "dry" farewell also generated some complaints among fans.
Something similar happened hours ago with LP, which had sound problems. In the case of Machine Gun Kelly, quite the opposite: his punk sound managed to captivate Argentine fans and he was very enthusiastic. The same thing happened with Doja Cat, one of the “top” artists of the moment, on one of the busiest stages of the festival.

Sunday
On Sunday the Foo Fighters closed. They are one of the most acclaimed rock bands of recent times, which also have a great reception from the Argentine public. Well, unlike The Strokes, the Foo were really happy to set foot in the country.

An example of this occurred when a person made a painting of the lead singer, Dave Grohl. He showed it to him from the field and the artist invited him to watch the show from the side of the stage, earning the affection of the entire audience. Now their songs and performances were also excellent.
The show began with a very emotional version of Times Like These, and then gave way to The Pretender. In the same way, themes like My Hero, My Generation or Everlong appeared, which are one of the favorites of the fans. Without a doubt, they managed to give the show that everyone expected due to their enormous career.
Previously, Babasónicos fell in love with the entire local public, with a repertoire of their best songs. Tiago PZK achieved a good performance, but the ones that really surprised were IDLES and Alessia Cara, who delivered their best versions for the show. Martin Garrix closed the last night and a festival that had really positive notes.
In short, the Lollapalooza 2022 show was great. We hope that the 2023 edition will be superior!
