Time doesn't stop and some still won't assimilate that we are reaching the middle of the year 2022. June is a month that will also bring us unmissable premieres and memorable comebacks, so it is important to keep an eye on what's new on streaming platforms. Like every month, at LatinAmerican Post we bring you a guide with the movies and series that you cannot miss. What surprises will Amazon Prime Video, Disney +, Netflix, Apple TV, and HBO Max give us? Find out below!
"The Boys" (June 3 – Amazon Prime Video)
One of the most successful series in the history of Amazon Prime Video returns. What happens when superheroes abuse their powers and don't use them for good? That is part of the premise of this series based on a comic that follows some people who try to stop those superheroes. This third season promises to be much more intense and violent than the previous two, and for this, we will see the inclusion of two specific characters that will give the plot a more spicy touch.
"Ms. Marvel" (June 8 – Disney+)
The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues its expansion in Phase 4. Now, and as Disney + has been doing, we will see the beginnings of a new superheroine for 6 episodes. Kamala Khan is a teenage fan of the Avengers, especially Captain Marvel, to the point of writing her own fan-fiction. While trying to fit in at high school, he unexpectedly gains superpowers. It is worth mentioning that this series will be a prequel to the future film "The Marvels".
"Peaky Blinders" (June 10 – Netflix)
Unanimously acclaimed by critics and fans, "Peaky Blinders" is a series that must be seen no matter what. Its setting, scripts, and masterful performance of the protagonists have been maintained over the years. In this sixth and final season we will notice a much darker and more desperate tone that, without a doubt, will leave us breathless and glued to our seats, since the main seasoning will be the unstable political landscape due to the constant and growing threat of fascism in the British Parliament. . How will Thomas Shelby's story end?

"Cha Cha Real Smooth" (June 17 – Apple TV)
For this month, Apple TV will bet heavily on a feature film that will brim with emotional honesty. In this unconventional love story, we will meet Andrew (Cooper Raiff), a young man who, despite having recently graduated from university, is not sure what to do with his life. However, getting a job that fits his personality, he meets a mother named Domino (Dakota Johnson) and her daughter, who end up changing the course of his future.
"Money Heist: Korea" (June 24 – Netflix)
What do streaming platforms do when one of their productions becomes a worldwide success? Repeat -in a certain way- the formula. Red jumpsuits and Dalí masks will once again be the protagonists in a robbery, just as it happened in Spain, but now in an Asian country: Korea. In this alternate reality, we will witness the unification of the two Koreas into one nation and with the same currency, where the only beneficiaries will continue to be the rich. Given this, a gang of thieves will get ready to carry out a hit that no one expects.
"Rise" (June 24 – Disney+)
For lovers of the NBA and sports in general, there is an unmissable movie. Giannis, Thanasis, and Kostas Antetokounmpo are three brothers who know what it's like to compete in basketball's elite, as they defend the colors of the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers. But not everything has been rosy for them, because from a very young age they had to emigrate from Nigeria to Greece in search of a better future. This biographical feature film shows those first steps and how they discovered their talents to become the figures they are today.
"Westworld" (June 26 – HBO Max)
After two years, the machine revolution returns to invade HBO Max. Everything indicates that this fourth season will give us answers on all the open fronts left by the third, such as Charlotte's claims in the war against Delos or the intentions of Maeve and Caleb in what appears to be the collapse of humanity such as we know. In fact, the creators of the series assured us that for this occasion they will delve into the relationship we have with technology.
