Why is Suri Cruise Holmes not allowed to contact her father?

As a result of Tom Cruise's link with Scientology, the marriage broke up and Katie decided, since her divorce in 2012, to separate her daughter from all this influence that she considers inappropriate and returned to her Catholic religion, which she has instilled in her daughter. Even when they moved to New York, she enrolled her in the Catholic College of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in that city, the same one where other celebrities such as Lady Gaga or Paris Hilton have studied.

But what are the reasons why Katie isolated Suri from her father, to prevent her from following in his footsteps into Scientology?

Ron Hubbard, a novelist who dedicated himself to science fiction, was the founder of this ideology, which was originally called Dianetics and which he described as "knowledge about knowledge, or the science of knowledge".

Through its practices and activities, Scientology promotes the idea that humans are immortal spiritual beings who have forgotten their true nature, and that, to recover it, they propose a method of rehabilitation called auditing.

When someone undergoes this practice, they relive events or experiences that have caused trauma in their past and could be forgotten. The goal is to free themselves from this negative charge with effects called limiters and thus could improve their present and future life.

On the other hand, they believe in extraterrestrial life. According to Scientology, Xenu was a mystical being who served as dictator in the Galactic Confederation over 75 million years ago, bringing us to Earth via his spaceships billions of years ago.

Acceptance and recognition of Scientology as a religion varies from country to country. This is the case in Spain, Sweden, Portugal, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, Nepal, Tanzania, Taiwan, Italy, Denmark, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Norway has all the guarantees for its practice, while in France it is considered a sect and its practice is prohibited, while in Switzerland they argue that, since all these methodologies have a cost, it is a purely commercial, non-religious organization; and in Belgium, they have come to characterize it as a potentially dangerous organization due to some manipulations and incursions on hidden occasions, in political and economic spheres.

Suri Cruise's half-siblings Bella and Connor, the product of Tom's relationship with Nicola Kidman, continued in their father's footsteps and are followers of Scientology, as are other celebrities including John Travolta, Elisabeth Moss, Laura Prepon, Juliette Lewis, and others. Also, the recently deceased Lisa Marie Presley and Kristie Alley.

The reality is that Katie retains custody of Suri, and she is a mother concerned with providing a safe environment for her daughter.

Even due to the close relationship between mother and daughter, in 2022, Katie directed two romantic dramas, "Alone Together" and "Rare Objects", for which Suri provided her voice. “I hope she always does something in my films. I always ask her,” Holmes told to magazine ustoday. “But both of those experiences came out of the same sense of what I love about our industry: you have these projects and you become a family with people.”

Holmes added: “So it comes out of love for me to include someone whom I love dearly. That’s how I like to work. I like to have that kind of feeling. It was very meaningful to me to have her there because she’s my heart."

“What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her,” Holmes said. “I’m very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She’s an incredible person.”

This is how Katie has remained firm in keeping her religious beliefs in Catholicism and in not allowing Scientology to be a part of Suri's life.

And you, what do you think of her decision?
