The Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM) is one of the most important events on the agenda of the audiovisual industry in Latin America. It is a space in the Colombian capital for developing, financing, and promoting audiovisual content in the region. Accredited participants can participate in talks, meetings, workshops, and screenings.

The presence of producers, sales agents, and distributors makes BAM an essential space for those who are looking to consolidate their projects in all formats: short films, series, and films. Here are some details of this year’s edition and what you need to attend this event.

Spaces

BAM will take place from 11 to 14 July with two confirmed venues. The Bogota Chamber of Commerce (CL. 67 # 8-32) will be the industry headquarters, a space for meetings between professionals in events such as Market Sessions, Industry Bites, and workshops for those selected in the calls for proposals.

The Gimnasio Moderno (CRA. 9 # 74-99) is the Experience venue and has four spaces. In the auditorium, the BAM Talks are held, and talks with great figures and experts on the opportunities and direction of the industry. In the Big Top are the stands of the companies and institutions of the sector with activities for the accredited. The Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications (MinTIC) sponsors the Lounge Tent focuses on public television, regional channels, and special programs for ethnic communities and people with diverse abilities. Finally, there is the Forum tent, which will host product launches and the BAM Brunch in the mornings.

Announcements

The 14th edition of BAM brings to Colombia, for the first time, the Locarno Industry Academy, a workshop sponsored by the Swiss festival that supports the training of young talents in online and traditional distribution, sales, film marketing, exhibition, and programming for the Latin American market. Among 60 applicants, 11 were selected for the first cohort.

The “Rough Shorts” section will also be inaugurated, a laboratory focused on short films in their first cut. The six selected projects will receive advice to strengthen the narrative from the editing stage and explore distribution routes for a format still limited to film festivals.

At the same time, the regular workshops are back. In film screenings, there will be screenings of Colombian feature films without a national premiere and in search of an international sales agent. In film projects, series, animation, and stories, producers, directors, and writers can present pitches to obtain financing for their projects. Finally, Bammers consolidates BAM’s commitment to young talent by selecting 13 professionals aged 22 and 30 who will participate in networking events and consultancies.
