Leer en español: Latinoamérica está despertando

The new year 2020 for Latin American countries tends to be optimistic. We, as Latinos, are more inclined to hope, more to think than to work hard and do things well for a system that will give us the style and quality of life we want.

This publication is about a reflection on the events of some Latin countries, territories besieged to exhaustion, nations usurped with impudence, but above all the adverse, they are countries that were born and will continue to be brothers.

Next, I will explain a little about some specific situations about each country; I know that I am not going to extend myself and I apologize for the issues or nations that I do not include, I will expose those that in my opinion, contrast and in turn, would have a common factor of great impact that it causes in Latin society, making us think about whether we really are focused on the important. Even better, wondering what is important?

New Year's Considerations for 2020: Peru and Femicide

The murder of a woman for the simple fact of being a woman is Latin America's daily bread.

In 2019, according to Eliana Revollar, deputy defender of women's rights in a statement to the Andean Agency, Peru has the highest rate of femicides in the last decade, reaching the sad number of 168 cases of violent deaths with characteristics of femicide.

The reasons why a person can kill a woman are so varied, but there is something that must be clear: misogyny (hatred of women) is something that has always been latent. Unfortunately, in these times, equipped with prevention and information mechanisms, the cases continue to make a malevolent presence, such as the monstrous being under our bed, always latent, always stalking us.

It is difficult to give a solution when government agencies for the protection of people turn a blind eye before these cases, leaving unpunished and with a feeling of uncertainty about the future that lies ahead.

New Year's Considerations for 2020 – Santiago de Chile and the Rebellion

Many will agree that the year 2019 was consolidated as a historical season, a milestone in a society that was considered manipulable, mocking and sleeping. But for better or worse, the beginning of what was unleashed by the $ 4 cents nonconformity would be the last straw he needed to shed the patience of a tired town.

The outbreak was so powerful that the world shook, with a motivation for the accumulation of decades of oppression and social outrage. Everyday life does not support all the burden we have to handle, corruption makes a dent to the wounds that it generates: everything has its limit and Chile has already found its own.

What if the rebellion did not focus on fragments, but rather on a single nation against corruption? United Latin America.

New Year's Considerations for 2020 – Colombia and its minimum wage

Imagine living with income that increasingly loses more value and means fewer possibilities, where the rent of an apartment in the lowest strata that a city can afford, covers more than 60% of the monthly income. And if we add the high costs of transport and food, there comes the excitement of the fortnight: a horror story or reality?

All this and many other factors that I do not want to shine are those that afflict this nation. Colombia is trying to change as a Latin American country that is respected; it is trying to emerge, people have ideas, entrepreneurship are generated, but all that is quietly rooted by the policies of a government that, Oh surprise! distills corruption. It seems that Latin America left the Spaniards to remain with Creoles of the same or worse type.

Colombian capitalism, which benefits only 1% of the country's inhabitants, enjoys this style of government, the rest of Colombians continue and will continue to eat as we know. That is why the protests were generated because those who hold power are the same ones who take out the laws in favor of themselves, turning poor people into a begging society.
