The Export of Peruvian Chocolates Grows by 75% from January to October 2023

The export of Peruvian chocolates grew 75%, from January to October of this year, adding 73 million dollars and the main destination countries were the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, according to this report. Tuesday the Association of Exporters (Adex).

Export of Peruvian Chocolates: Increase of 12.1% in the International Market

Adex Agroexports Manager, Claudia Solano, explained that "cup chocolate achieved an increase of 12.1% compared to the same period in 2022 and landed in countries such as the United States, Japan, Chile, Aruba, Zambia and Switzerland".

Conventional chocolates ($54.9 million) were 75% of the total exported, while organic chocolates ($18 million) represented 25%.

Local producers include dehydrated fruits such as mango, pineapple, aguaymanto, orange, blueberries, mint, and maras salt in conventional chocolates, which have increased their production by 131% this year.

According to the ADEX Data Trade Commercial Intelligence System, the destinations of Peruvian chocolates were the United States (43 million dollars) with a 60% share, the United Kingdom (6.9 million dollars), and Canada (4.8 million dollars).

Meanwhile, the most outstanding growth rates were in New Zealand (10,655%), the United Kingdom (4,035%), Australia (1,034%), Venezuela (688%) and the Netherlands (304%).
