The rapper's harvest of hits doesn't stop and nine months after his well-received sixth studio album entitled "Certified Lover Boy" , the Canadian has presented his new project called "Honestly, Nevermind" , an album in which he presents a new style and offers fresh melodies that will play throughout the summer.

While an artist of Drake's caliber is always working on new music, the news of his seventh album took the world by storm on Thursday, June 16 when he announced via his social media that his new full album would be available starting in the midnight. An announcement that has "broken the internet" in a pleasant way for his followers, who were quickly waiting for the Canadian's new material.

Exploring other territories

Although Drake has proclaimed himself one of the best rappers in recent history, it is inevitable to classify him as an exceptional multifaceted artist capable of shining in any genre that he seeks to present. During his first albums, he presented himself as a rapper with conscious and overcoming lyrics that led him to stardom, but hits like "Hotline Bling", "One Dance", "Toosie Slide" , among others,  made him an icon.

In the list of 14 songs recorded, perhaps the most outstanding is "Overdrive", with his favorite producer Noah "40" Shebib as the creator of the track together with the South African DJ Black Coffee. The theme borders on a classic funk style covered with guitars and piano that accompany a melancholy and always melodic Drake, one of his recipes for guaranteed success.

Although the voice of “Drizzy” is always the highest point of his tracks, the rhythms of the house genre are present throughout the entire project, presenting perhaps the most agitated version, if you will, of an album by the artist who seems to be moving away from his roots as a rapper. Another proof of this is the theme that has been presented as the project's first single: "Falling Back" , a song with more hectic rhythms and less elaborate lyrics, whose music video shows Drake marrying twenty-three women, a source of controversy since its publication.

New album, new hits

The self-proclaimed 6God manages to reap new triumphs every time he publishes something. According to the Billboard website, Drake's seventh album has established itself as the most played dance genre album in the history of Apple Music after just one hour of its release worldwide. It is necessary to remember that the Canadian has the milestone of the most listened to album in the history of the platform after the publication of "Certified Lover Boy" in September 2021.

As a thank you to his fans, Drake has added a note published exclusively on Apple Music where he expresses his feelings and presents his new project in a more intimate way, explaining that the album is the result of complicated times in his life and he has worked on it “with each breath of his body” and that although he is a guy who finds it difficult to forget and forgive the problems he has had with other people, “the need for revenge overcomes the good guy” that Drake wants to become.

Projections shared by Hits Daily Double indicate that the album will debut in the first box of the Billboard 200 like his most recent albums, although it is estimated that his latest project will not reach figures as high as those of "Certified Lover Boy".
