The original and fast-paced production has been cataloged by the public and critics as one of the best titles of 2022. The film tells the story of an ordinary woman who suddenly discovers that she can move between universes. With this revelation will come the mission to confront an evil that threatens to destroy all existing universes.
The idea of parallel realities is not something strange for today’s film viewer. Currently, there are several popular productions that are based on the notion of multiverses. Notable examples are the various Marvel titles that explore this theme, such as the animated film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” or the live action “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”. Multiple realities are not alien to DC either, since in “The Flash” they plan to present at least two versions of the speedy red suit heroe, and two of Batman, one of them will be the one played by Michael Keaton in the movie “Batman” (1989) directed by Tim Burton. As for series, if we move away from the superhero genre, we can find the famous animated production “Rick and Morty”.
It is in the midst of this panorama that “Everything Everywhere All at Once” emerges, a film that ingeniously turns the idea of the multiverse on its head and manages to build an exciting, funny, surreal and emotional story.
The production, since its premiere, has managed to surprise and satisfy both critics and audiences in equal parts, and it is not for less, since “Everything Everywhere All at Once” manages to offer the viewer a quite peculiar and unique cinematographic experience.
The film is directed by Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (known together as The Daniels), who had already made themselves known with “Swiss Army Man” (2016).
The cast is led by Michelle Yeoh (“Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”), Ke Huy Quan (“The Goonies”), Stephanie Hsu (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”), James Hong (“Kung Fu Panda”) and Jamie Lee Curtis (“Knives out”).
After passing through US billboards, “Everything Everywhere All at Once” premiered on June 9 in Mexico, Argentina and Chile. It is expected that from June 23 it will be available in movie theaters throughout Latin America.

A story that navigates between emotion and madness
What if we could connect our consciousness to that of another version of us present in a different universe and acquire its most extraordinary abilities? This is the question that the story of “Everything Everywhere All at Once” answers.
In this film we follow Evelyn Wang, a Chinese immigrant with an unenviable life. She struggles to keep her laundry afloat, which is being audited by the IRS (tax office); their marriage has cooled and seems to be more full of reproaches than love; In addition, the relationship with her daughter is hard and complex. As if that weren’t enough, Evelyn’s father also comes to visit, who doesn’t seem very proud of his daughter.
The protagonist of this story will see her problems worsen when it is revealed to her, at the most unexpected moment, that there is a way to jump between realities and that she could be the one to stop an evil that threatens all existing universes. From this point we will witness a frenetic journey.
This is a multifaceted story, which through delusional and crazy scenes manages to explore themes such as family, love, depression, acceptance of the other and the meaning of existence.
Action, comedy, science fiction, martial arts and drama are present in “Everything Everywhere All at Once”. The film goes from one genre to another just as its characters jump between universes, being masterful the organic way in which it manages to intertwine these genres and result in a film that navigates between the absurd and reflective at the same time.
The film knows how to exploit the potential of the idea it has in hand. Provides an epic story, full of twists and turns and unexpected twists. The film is full of winks and references that pay homage to great film titles. The visual section is another of the remarkable aspects of this production.
Without a doubt, this is one of the best titles of the year. An ingenious proposal with an excellent execution. A production with a very own air that offers an incomparable experience. In short, “Everything Everywhere All at Once” is one of the most pleasant surprises of 2022.
