Many remember the head-butt with which Zidane was expelled in the 2006 final or Diego Maradona's handball incident in 1986. This is why in LatinAmerican Post, we decided to collect those curiosities that have took place in Russia 2018, and that, surely, will go down in the history of the World Cup.
The bittersweet 6-1 of Panama
On June 23, the match between England and Panama was played. In its debut, the Central American team lost 3-0 against Belgium, so a defeat would be the end of Panama's dream.

Six goals from England ended up doing the inevitable: eliminate Panama. However, at minute 78, defender Jorge Baloy scored the discount of Hernán 'Bolillo' Gómez's team, the same that all of Panama celebrated as if they were world champions. The goal of the Panamanian captain went down in history as the first goal of his team in a World Cup.

Seven of them are Latin American: Uruguay, Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia; and the other is European: Spain.
Likewise, according to the portal Depor.com, Spanish is the most spoken language in the World Cup, if you add the number of inhabitants of the eight countries that speak this language: almost 310 million people, that is, 47 million more than English, which ranks second with 263 million English speakers.
Goodbye, Mondragón!
Although the Colombian exporter Faryd Mondragón only played a few minutes in the last group stage game against Japan in Brazil 2014, they were enough to reach the record of being the longest player in playing a World Cup: 43 years and three days.
However, Mondragón lost his record in 2018 with the 45-year-old Egyptian goalkeeper, Essam El-Hadary, in the match between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
"The new Ronaldo"
Gabriel Jesús is one of the key players of the Brazilian national team that plays in this World Cup. However, the Brazilian striker's race is a train without control, because only four years ago he had not even debuted in a professional team.
