Showing these films at the Venice International Film Festival is also planned. According to the official website of La Biennale di Venezia, the world premiere of Roma is scheduled for August 30.

Initially, it was going to be shown at the Cannes Film Festival, but the release was canceled due to problems with the organizers of the event after the tape was acquired by Netflix. For its part, the premiere of Our Time and Accused is September 4.

Roma: An autobiography by Alfonso Cuarón

According to Vogue, Roma is a film "set in the 1970s," which marks the return of Cuarón "to Mexico after 17 years in Hollywood." This film also marks his return to the big screen as a director, after four years.

In an interview with Indiewire, Cuarón explained that Roma is the first film in which he was able to "transmit what he wanted to transmit". In fact, this is the most personal film of the Mexican director, since many of the scenes are taken from his memories.

"Sometimes directly, sometimes a little more obliquely. It is a moment that marked me, but also a moment that marked a country. It was the beginning of a long transition in Mexico," he said.

Our time: "An attempt to build a sexually open couple"

Our time is a film that also marks the return of Carlos Reygadas as director, after six years. Post-Tenebras Lux is a feature film that was released in 2012 and won the Best Director award at the Cannes Film Festival.

According to Revista Diners, "all of his films, from the opera prima Japan to Post Tenebras Lux, pose challenges that go through the narrative tempo, his representation of the body and sexuality, the relationship with the Mexican cultural tradition and the range of meanings that suggest In the public".

Now Reygadas presents Our Time, a film that does not seem to be very different in terms of the themes presented. The protagonists of this film are Reygadas and his wife Natalia López, who play Juan and Esther. According to Mexico's Sexenio, Lopez described the film as "an attempt to build a sexually open couple."

Accused: a very intimate movie

According to actress and singer Lali Esposito in an interview with Formula TV, this film "tells the story of a 20-year-old girl, because I look very young (jokes) Dolores Dreyer is accused of killing her best friend in a way The interesting thing about the script is that, beyond telling the trial, knowing if it did or not, that it is guilty or innocent or that it is a movie about a case, the film is interesting because it is so intimate ".

Although Argentine director Gonzalo Tobal has directed several films, Acusada is his second feature film. The first was Villegas, which premiered six years ago. As Esposito explains in the same interview, Acusada is a film that "has something very hypnotic".
