Bogota fashion week will be held in the first week of April. Meet some of the designers who will make their debut this year

Bogotá Fashion Week seeks to make Bogotá a capital for business around the world of fashion and for the exhibition of designs of emerging companies. This fashion week will take place in the first week of April. We have chosen in this list, that we will publish in two parts, the designers that will participate for the first time and that, as emergent brands, all the fans of the local fashion must know.

1. Bastard

Bastardo is an art and design studio created in 2010 in New York and directed by graphic designer Rubén Antorveza. For this version of Bogotá Fashion Week, he will bring his most recent collection, Natural Selection, in which he uses leather and dark-colored clothing in dialogue with elements of nature such as insect figures.

 

2. Capra Leather

Capra Leather is a brand of leather goods for men. He works artisanal techniques on leather in his own workshop with 100% Colombian materials. It is a brand concerned with the look and elegance of modern man, so his designs are minimalist and nothing ostentatious.

 

3. CUBEL

It's about Humberto Cubides Beltrán. CUBEL is an abbreviation of their two surnames. This is an urban clothing brand with a view to an audience and an international industry. Design garments for men and women. The garments that we will see in the fashion week of Bogotá will surely be uncommon avant-garde garments with a futuristic and at the same time urban style.

 

4. Daila Filigrana

Behind this project are Lisseth Salas and Jonathan Zapata. Daila was born from a trip to Mompóx in which both discovered the technique of filigree for jewelry. Since then, they aim to fill their jewelry with meaning and to make their customers aware that they are wearing an identity piece.

 

5. Ducky Black

It is the brand of the Colombian designer Luisa Alvarado. Luisa started making clothes for her friends in college while studying Visual Arts with DIY techniques. Now with Ducky Black, he aims for a modern and independent woman who is interested in an urban style under the aesthetic of punk rock.

 

6. Estrada

This is the brand of Sebastian Estrada, who grew up immersed in the leather industry, so he has a knowledge and a special interest in the use of this material to make high quality men's shoes. Sebastián is also a photographer, which gives him a precise and direct eye for the design of his clothes.

7. Hossh

Unlike other brands on this list, which use predominantly black and metallic, Hossh's signature is color. Steamy fabrics, loose garments and bright colors is what our creative director Lissa María Valdivieso will surely bring us for this version of Bogotá Fashion Week.

 

8. Isidora Malva

Isidora Malva cares about filling the needs of modern women in a sophisticated and fresh way. It is inspired by the art deco and architecture of the 20s with fashion colors of the 70s, so the result is portfolios and accessories full of life and elegance that combine two styles.

 

9. J. Kieffer

This brand of leather accessories for women is very concerned about good practices, so their signature, beyond their designs, is the promotion of good remuneration for their workers and the training of people in a vulnerable state in leather goods techniques.

 

10. Jorge Duque

Your DUQUEVELEZ brand already has international recognition as a signature of exceptional garments tailored to the customer. Jorge Duque won the first version of the Project Runway contest in Latin America and his career has risen from there.

 

11. Lina Hernández Jewelry

Lina Hernández, who bears the name of her brand, is a Bogota designer who studied the technique of filigree in Mompóx. Hence the signature of its brand: elegant and simple jewelry with a technique typical of this place in the Colombian Caribbean. It has expanded its range of products with leather goods techniques for the manufacture of handbags and other accessories.

12. Lucinda

Created by brothers Monica and Juan Valbuena, Lucinda is a brand of luxury footwear that works in two ways.
