If you are in the Colombian capital, you can’t overlook your visit to the Neusa reservoir, a place for relaxing and harmonizing with nature

If you feel that it is time to take a break, that your body and your mind are begging for it and you have to repose of the daily noise and movement of the city, or just want to stay with your family or friends in a different place, we recommend you one of the most suitable and accessible sites to stay at peace, enjoy nature and have a good time. You will not need to go too far or to spend too much money.

The Neusa reservoir offers different spaces and activities to enjoy completely, it gives you a quiet and pleasant mood, and a beautiful view. You can sail and go fishing, make a bonfire, hire a burner, and prove delicious food that you’ll find at restaurants. If you like it and you want to stay the night, the park has camping service, cabins (the biggest cabin hold 20 people), and hotel.

In addition to the touristic activities, the reservoir is essential as a hydric resource, supplying the municipality of Zipaquira and Cogua, and in the savannah’s flood control. It’s operated by CAR (Autonomous Regional Corporation of Cundinamarca) and it’s part of COLPARQUES organization. Also, it has a plant nursery with native and exotic species, useful with many procedures of environmental improvement.

It is located in the municipality of Cogua and Tausa, close to Zipaquira, so you don’t waste more of two hours on your trip. You can go there in public transport from Bogota to Zipaquira and then, from Zipaquira to Cogua, or in your own vehicle, because the place has parking or you can park it in some allowed spaces in the camping zone.

To keep in mind and don’t stop to have a good time:

• Carry enough coats and blankets because it’s so cold, particularly at night.
• Look prices with anticipation.
• You can find diversity of fauna and flora: please take care of it and admire it.
• Look how far is the bathroom, restaurants, and other amenities, especially if you go camping.
• If you do not go in your own vehicle, you have to be prepared for a long but joyful walk.
• Everybody want to enjoy the park, so keep a good harmony and respect.
• Do not throw garbage, remember the importance of the reservoir, and be friendly with the environment.
