Peru Acquires Advanced Drones for Enhanced Military Intelligence

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Defense of Peru announced an agreement with the Chinese company Norinco to purchase two advanced drones equipped with a three-dimensional cartographic processing system. The Peruvian Army will utilize these state-of-the-art drones for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations against illicit activities.
The acquisition of these “cutting-edge” drones is part of an offset agreement signed between the Ministry of Defense and North Industries Corp. (Norinco). As part of this deal, Norinco will also train a group of Peruvian military operators to use these sophisticated systems. The Ministry emphasized that these uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) would significantly enhance the Army’s ability to conduct high-definition surveillance and intelligence operations day and night.
