He added that they understand "that some sectors of public opinion may have interpreted this measure in different ways," although he did not mention that, since it was a final, the award ceremony for the champion was scheduled to take place.

"But the only motivation of our institution was to avoid unfortunate situations in a context of deterioration in security guarantees that became evident in the last minutes of the match," he added.

The club maintained that, with the support of the Police and private security men, it "guaranteed the correct removal of fans through properly illuminated corridors and exits, since only the floodlights on the playing field were turned off."
