Latin America shines at the World Athletics
Although only one day of competition is missing, Latinos have shown great participation in the World Athletics Championships held in Doha, Qatar.

The seventeenth edition of the World Athletics Championship is about to end. This great event that brings together athletes in different competitions left great and important victories for Latin American athletes. That is why from LatinAmerican Post we show you who have been the winners so far.
Alex Quiñónez
The Ecuadorian competed for the 200 flat meters in one of the most exciting races of the Championship. Quiñónez reached the bronze with a mark of 19.98 seconds. In the same race, the American Noah Lyles took the victory with 19.83 seconds, becoming the youngest person to win the 200 meters in the World Cup, with 22 years.
The Ecuadorian said he was "happy to have won a medal, although not the one I wanted," which he complemented "we must continue working and striving more and more." This is the fifth medal that Ecuador obtains in a World Cup.

The Colombian made history in the athletics of the country. Zambrano took the silver medal in the 400 flat meters with 44.15 seconds at age 21. A milestone for the history of Colombia because no sprinter had won a medal in a World Cup, according to El Tiempo.
Despite not being the favorite, in the last 50 meters he accelerated to the point of surpassing and leaving behind all his rivals. However, he could not handle the Bahamian Steven Gardiner, who won the gold medal.

Caterine Ibargüen
The Colombian high jump legend added a bronze medal to the country, when she reached the podium in the triple jump competition with a distance of 14.73 meters. A sample of overcoming because until recently it was not known exactly if she would participate in this World Cup, since just two months ago she was operated on a plantar fasciitis.
Ibargüen, who has stood out in these World Cups, has already won five gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.
Yulimar Rojas
The Venezuelan took the gold medal in the triple jump with a distance of 15.37, the fourth best mark in history and the best personal record. The 23-year-old sportswoman adds this new gold medal to those she won in the 2019 Pan American Games, to the 2018 World Indoor Athletics Championships, 2017 World Athletics Championships; among others.
