These are just the basic characteristics of Leticia Bufoni e Silva, the Brazilian skater who enjoys great popularity in the world and whose life and achievements are much more interesting than what we have mentioned so far.
Leticia, like most Brazilians, was seduced by football, but when she was just beginning to fall in love with skateboarding, her father cut her in half a board used to practice this discipline. There, she started her story on a skateboard, according to RedBull.
Today, she even has a television program and is the skater with more followers in social media: 1.4 million on Instagram, 1.6 million on Facebook, and 90 thousand on Twitter.
Redbull tells that she was only 9 years old when playing football she saw some of her friends skate. "The first time I played a board, I fell in love," she confesses.
Five years later, at 14, Leticia competed for the first time in X Games. Her father challenge her, according to Redbull. Bufoni's father told her to do an ironing of Inward Heelflip (a movement that turns the table) and that if she succeeded she would stay in California. It was the first show of talent and personality of Bufoni, who not only managed to fulfill the cahllenge, but chose to stay in Los Angeles at such a young age.

From there, achievements as a skater began to arrive. She was the first to win the Street League Super Crown in 2015 in her female category thanks to an unforgettable Tre Flip (another movement with the skateboard) in her last turn. Europe also surrendered at their feet in the events of the Mystic SK8 (the most traditional of that part of the world), El O'Marisquiño, and the Imagin Extreme Barcelona.
She was the first female skater to participate in the Red Bull Hart Lines. She also accumulates three gold medals, two silvers, and three bronzes in the X-Games, being the practitioner of this discipline that leads that department and the only one to achieve them in the same year. In this case in 2013 in Los Angeles and Barcelona.
The sublime and the ridiculous
Not everything has been easy for Bufoni, since recently she was involved in a controversy due to a misunderstanding. The aforementioned popularity in social media played a trick on her because when she published the post "Mexico is the shit" with a picture of her wearing a jacket that expressed that message on her back, the reactions against were immediate.
This is how the Brazilian wanted to celebrate Go Skateboarding, despite the fact that many did not understand the tribute to this Central American country.
However, there are more good things, because as the Spanish portal says, Leticia has a house that is the envy of many. It was known through Garret Giner, a famous youtuber who visited her and was able to show the gym, the billiard room, the skate room and the trophy room that make up the athlete's cozy home.
To make matters worse, the multi-champion has a duplex private skatepark right next to a pool. A really amazing design.
What is your success?
RCN exposes some reasons why Bufoni is considered an icon by many women. The Skater was one of the pioneers in the Street League and the X Games, competitions that since its origin gave more space to the male sector. These participations also aroused the interest of other women to be included in this specialty. Today, there is already a legacy of skaters.
Her image has been revalued over time, as the skateboard brand Plan B made her a pro model (promotion) that catapulted her to be Professional Skateboarder. In her social media, Leticia not only posts content related to skateboarding, in fact, she gives a lot of space to different sports, especially her other passion: soccer.
Bufoni´s projection motivates her to be in different cities of the world. Recently, and according to Four. Com, she toured several cities in Spain such as Barcelona, Bilbao or Vigo. In the third of those mentioned was on the occasion of the 18th edition of O'Marisquiño, the aforementioned festival which mixes culture and sport.
In this event, the Brazilian took part in the category 'World Cup Skateboarding, Street women', placing herself in the second position, but that was the least of it. What most caught her attention was that whenever she could he would take out her skateboard to show the people her different tricks on it.
