Chile begins a new constituent process. This July 4, the assembly members elected by popular vote will meet to draft the new Chilean constitution, which seeks to replace the 1980 one drawn up during the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. However, this is not the only current South American constitution that was written during a period of dictatorship. Learn a little more about the Magna Carta of each South American country.

With the failed constitutional process in Venezuela, the most recent constitution in the entire area is the Bolivian one. The one promoted by President Evo Morales and which included, among other things, the recognition of the Wiphala as a national symbol.
