Today the world is scandalized by the arrival of the Taliban in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. The rebel group of Islamic ideology returned to power after the western invasion in 2001. While they were in power previously, they were not considered a terrorist group, but they were accused of maintaining a permissive policy with other groups registered in the black lists of Western governments, like Al Qaeda; and allies of the Haqqani terrorist network.
This war has several antecedents that we must know in order to understand the current panorama. For example, the Taliban are not a fully organized or structured group, they have 85,000 fighters, according to NATO, and are supported by the rural and extremist Islamic population. Their intention is the strict and extremist implementation of Islamic law.

Despite the fact that the US government had considered withdrawing from Afghan territory for several years, even decades, the events that occurred in recent months have weakened Joe Biden’s image. The results of a failed withdrawal and the impossibility of guaranteeing a strong institutional framework that protects the human rights of men, women, and children again call into question the initial invasion.
